Anyone ever have a discrepancy between an issue listed in the vehicle health report and what you’re actually seeing in the car? Here’s my issue…

I get the monthly vehicle health report sent by SiriusXM and the past two reports have a warning with a big ole red “X” that says “immediate action is required”. The report says that my brake warning light is on however, in the car it’s not on at all. In fact the quick self check the vehicle does every startup has it come on briefly, then all required lights go out and indicates no malfunction(s) whatsoever. Furthermore, I’ve run the vehicle diagnostic from the dash display and everything comes back clear with no faults or codes. The vehicle health report says this warning is shown when the brake warning light is illuminated on the dash but as I mentioned, it is not, nor has it ever come on or been on steady beyond the startup self check. Please see pics below for a description of what causes this warning according to the health report itself. Though I have not looked too deep into the brake reservoir or ABS system, none of the issues listed apply in my case, but I’d imagine (assuming the info on the report’s description is correct) that I “should” still see the brake warning light ON in the vehicle. It is however concerning me that the warning shows up on the report.

I would assume if I indeed had an issue that the vehicle itself would be the one to warn by way of a light (stuck on) or some kind of fault code, since the SiriusXM health report is an optional, subscription-based service. I mean if someone did NOT have the service I can’t imagine they’d be SOL and left to find out about a fault the hard way. Am I off base here in thinking this?

I’d hate to take the car in for diagnostic only to have them tell me nothing is wrong and charge me for it too…

Anyway, thanks in advance for reading.

As of late I have a number of incorrectly report faults on all three of our Mopars. Reports of airbag failure lights, CEL and low tire pressure. I have just started to ignore the Uconnect. I only keep it because it immediately reports when I trip the alarm just as a test.

Buy yourself an OBD MX+ dongle and scan your car, with their app.

Found a hidden (no cel) code. It was a faulty humidity sensor.

Worth having, to give Hal9000 a checkup, every now and then.

Scroll down to:

Product Documentation (PDF)

Or just click on the PDF link above - it contains a detailed list of vehicles/MY's covered. Looks like it will work with Challengers, Chargers & Durango's.

You want the mx+, it definitely does work, I have one in use for a couple of years now, be sure to get the Alpha OBD app to go with it.

I have the Alpha ODB app and a tuner for both cars that runs CEL's so is there really any advantage to have one of these?

Nah.

As long as you have an OBD client, for your car, you're good.

I use mine, with Alfa OBD, too.

Auto windows down is great, in the SoCal summer.

My 2015 seems to have lost its performance pages. Does this happen when you change the PCM for an unlocked version ?

Should come back after awhile. I used to get it all the time on my Daytona when I would disconnect the battery. It would go to a Chrysler screen. If you put your finger toward the top right corner and press for a bit it will usually reset back.. That is what I would do. I don't have issues with the Hellcat when I disconnect the battery

I believe it could be because you no longer have UConnect, if you no longer have it. Several here have spoken about this issue.

I second Vortec‘s comment - If you disconnected the battery yes. They come back, give it time.

Everytime I went to the track I got a drivetrain problem alert.

I did the right thing, ignored it and unsubscribed.

So, everyone here like OBD MX+ over BlueDriver? I've used BlueDriver on my RAM and previous Mitsubishi Outlander with much success, since 2016. I don't think I've ever plugged it into the HC before.

I've never tried the blue driver...since the MX+ came out I have used it more often than any of the other tools I have to accomplish what it does.

That report bs was a crock of shit on mine from day one. When it came they were mainly exercised by my tire pressures, and.most were weeks past being current, so I consigned that report to the junk heap. Good idea I guess but.poor execution. If it was all that I think dodge would be touting it as far more than an oh yeah you also get this report....

I find those health reports amusing.

For example I still get them for a Trackhawk we sold about a year ago. Obviously they had no idea that I changed the oil at 500 miles. It was due for a change when sold, but based on the reports it never got one. Started feeling sorry for it when seeing 14K on the odo . Oh, and the poor thing went to Phoenix, so at 600 degrees ambient, the tire pressures were a bit on the high side.
