Some of the lakes (in northern ca) also
Wouldn't move back there except if Christ asked me to.

Sad, California was really nice, at one time. I believe there is something in the water, that turns your brains to sh!t. We have a few distant relatives in CA and they aren't right...

When I finally had enough and fled, selling the house made me set for life. But yes, in many ways it was a steep price to pay.

I see your point. We have escapees from many blue states, most of them learned their lesson. The number on thing, they love, the lack of TAX. In Florida, there is no state, city, county tax and property tax is much lower. I have, yet to meet anyone that would like to go back to Crazyfornia.

My friend called me yesterday (from Fla.)...it was 11:30 am..he went to get into his car...it was 109 degrees..and 97 outside with oppressively high humidity...they couldn't pay me to live there either..

We are having mid-upper 90's, as of late. This is summer in Florida. The 109* could have been in the car, sitting in the sun? Overall, this has been a lower than average, humidity year, for us. I have been in Florida for over 20 years, no going back...

Not quite, but a modest house (with a large garage) on 17 acres overlooking the ocean and seven islands was enough. I always used an inland PO Box, but for most buyers the Malibu zip code is gold.

I would not want to live in Hollywood, or near it.
