We got hit pretty hard in the diesel industry. All our top tuners got busted and heavily fined. The EPA now stated that there will be mandatory jail ( 5 to 10 years ) time and fines. No more delete tunes. They are on a warpath now.

Nope, nope, nope. No dirty tail sniffing allowed.

Stainless Works threw in the towel, no more "off road" exhaust. I do see how the rest of the header makers will be able to fight the new EPA interpretation off. Might be seeing some pretty creative shorty headers shortly.

What was the conclusion of SMOG testing on E85 tunes or not? Does that fly?

Seems like it would, but maybe they'd get nosy if you were "too clean"...?

Didn't the EPA try to push through a no modification bill/law about 4-5 years ago but it was shot down? The was quite a backlash/uproar and people made their feelings known.

I will say there are a lot of very "dirty' diesels running around here and those fuckers should have to breathe in the shit they spew out themselves. So stinky and foul!

All this happens based on who gets elected....or in some cases, who gets into office.

The you tube video I saw. They said they got visited last year.
So basically like the price of gas all can't be blamed on the new administration.
Not that I am defending them , or the previous for that matter.

This has all been pretty thoroughly researched, emissions testing and these other feel good measures do little to address pollution. It's been a long time since I've looked at it but while in grad school I did a couple of papers on the subject. The most effective way to curb air pollution from cars is to target the junkers spewing visible emissions. The time wasted and lost economic productivity from requiring late model cars to sit in line at an emissions testing facility is pretty monumental. I would guess vehicles with aftermarket tunes are pretty statistically insignificant when it comes to the amount of pollution they are producing. I'm all for new technology but this isn't really about curbing "green house" gases it's more about engineering social change unless you are some private jet flying elite who makes the annual pilgrimage to Davos Switzerland.

Start with the post office PS smog spewing vans. I live on a culda sac and every day when the mail van shows up it smogs up the whole street.
