Hi everyone. I don’t seem to be building fuel pressure and the car won’t start. Everything went real smooth with the wiring and install. The pumps are coming on in the key cycles but no matter how many time I’ve primed them it just won’t fire. It does seem like it’s trying to. Rick at tapped (called me back on a Sunday 👍) suggested to recheck for a 3rd pump plug on the manifold and also to make sure the main feed line did not blow off and both checked out. I will talk with him again tomorrow. Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I started with a 1/4 tank of fuel then added so now I’m just under a 1/2 tank. Wanted to be sure that wasn’t it. Fuel level sender is working

If someone else primes. And you have your head above the pump hat, do you hear any fuel moving?
If they’re wired backwards, I think they’ll make noise but they won’t actually pump anything.

I’ll check and listen, but how can it be wired backwards? I can only see one way to wire it.

power on corner post of fuse panel

2 grounds on factory post beside fuse panel

Fist and Second fpdm and y harness only go together one way I’m pretty sure

pump 1 and 2 wires clearly labeled all the way to the hat.

wiring connector on the hat

am I missing anything?

I stuck my ear right to the hat with my wife doing key cycling and they’re definitely coming on but I can’t say I hear any fuel moving?

Those pumps ship with any caps or plugs in them that need to be removed?

Not that I am aware. I did make sure there was the plug in place where a third pump would go. Rick said there’s a slight chance it may have been overlooked. But looks plugged to me. This was a very awkward position

Checked the wiring again. Seems to be correct. Excuse the mess, I didn’t secure it all down yet because I wanted to make sure it was working first. The primary fpdm is the one with white line on it.

I know my Mustang had a safety relay incase you were hit that wouldn't allow the car to start. I don't know if they shut the fuel pumps off or spark. Maybe possible it got tripped? Again off hand don't know if these have them
Being you said the pumps are running then it may be spark

I've seen both parts several times. Great videos. He did real good job with the wiring. Maybe he can chime in

I did at first pull the relay and tried to crank it to relieve pressure. Maybe its gone bad somehow? Both 30a fuses are good.

Looks like you have a plug and play harness... different than what I’ve installed in the past where a friend of mine had his connectors wired backwards. So, you’re probably right, they only go 1 way with these.

Did you disconnect anything else, maybe under the hood, that would be preventing it from starting? Pull a plug and see if any fuel is making it to the cylinders?

Im just thinking that even with the pump swap you may have done other modifications that could be at play here.

I imagine you have a way to read logs... are they showing fuel pressure at all?

That's my next step I'm going to do some logs after work and go from there

even those plugs and play connectors, are only p&p on one end right?
They are plug and play on both ends. That's another thing I'm going to try today is unplug everything and just check one more time everything is correct as far as the wiring

Have you disconnected the main supply line at the fuel rail to see if there was any fuel getting there ?

The reason I ask is , is because I have seen in the past the line that connects to the pump assembly was not Security installed and come off in the tank ...... Don't ask how I know
