I ran 147.210 at the WannaGofast 1/2 mile in Ocala Fl Oct 2019. 2017 Hellcat Challenger 6 spd no engine mods. I had 285/35/20 Toyo Proxis R888R on the . I had also removed the Barton Shifter and put the stock shifter back as I was getting the car ready to trade in on a Redeye after the event. I beat some automatic Hellcats, I hung with a few automatics , and got beat by a few . Some autos popped off a couple of 149-150's.
My only regret on the Redeye trade is the automatic Trans. I respect the auto trans guys that know their limitations and can't shift a manual trans fast and precise. It is best you stick with the automatic. The fun factor and drive ability of the 6spd far exceeds the autos , I hope I can dumb down and adjust.

An 18 is easy compared to two sticks . LOL !! .I learned on a 1956 Mack B 61 tri plex . it’s a lot of stick work . feels like you’re shifting every 5 feet.. because you are !.... all in good fun.
I used to love a manual but the A8 is so awesome, I don’t miss the clutch one bit. My 69 fastback Cuda still has the A833...but I don’t drive it much. View attachment 9374
I have the same car A-833 4spd black interior , right down to the same Hurst shifter. My 22 year old son drives it everywhere. I can't get him out of it ! GOPR0184 (1).JPG GOPR0184 (1).JPG

Very nice and appreciated. Growing up in the early 70's there weren't much choices except on the column or floor and some times not a choice. I got damn good with 3 speed on the column, so now at 62 there is no other choice except 6 speed. Not a daily driver in Pinellas County but for fun and regression,,, that is it. I have driven the red eye paddles but not the same. Kept reaching for the shifter. Just seems like have more control especially down shifting into curves and then back into the gas. Maybe one day but not in my day. Like growing up wearing flip flops,, even in the snow,,flops.

Yeah not a Honda or bmw. You do really have to throw it kinda hard
That's part of the fun of it...don't worry...your not gonna break anything...certainly more user friendly than either of my vipers

Stepping out of many GM cars with sticks was not to bad working into the H/C except it lettting me know, me know, where it's break in shifting points are,, or were. Now at 8,100 miles and still learning process it is getting fun. Now at this point it wants to shit 1 to 3rd which the vettes made you do unless you bought the $10 by pass switch. This one will let you smooth into or go around. No stupid light comes on that says 1st to 3rd. You can simply move around it if you wish. This just happened the past 400 miles. Not a problem and it is a smooth shifter. 1 to 2 to 4 and or back. What the engineers told me when I purchased the car Sept 2018, just don't slug it,,, like 1 st to 3rd unless you are at 3500 rpm. The fact is, it will let you know when it wants to shift till you get married then all is well. Me, no one the road, 4 lanes on both sides of road concrete barrier and well lit. US 19 Clearwater at 11:30 with scrambler and detector on, 130 t0 140 on 3rd gear at 65 degrees is not unreasonable once a month. But the car will let you know when to shift. FUN, FUn, Fun.

Sounds like you have a lot of experience driving an automatic . I appreciate your confidence in me as the unlearning curve is steep.

I traded it to my local Mopar performance tech at the dealership for some labor on up coming Redeye mods.
I wouldn't have a 6spd without one. They are night and day performance wise over the stock shifter.

I have read many posts about the M6 being notchy, clutch being too heavy, blah, blah...
I mean really.
I driven lots of manual cars in my life, American, German, Japanese, Italian, Swedish...and I find the HC box to be excellent.
I had an original MR2 and that shifter was touted as being extremely slick. Two 944 Turbos, both with perfectly servicable sticks, but nothing amazing. And the setup on the NSX, again everything on that car was cooed over, including the shifter, but again nothing particularly amazing to me.
The HC shifter and clutch are stout. They seem to perform best with firm and accurate actuations. I've never had it pop out of gear or do any other unsavory behavior. Frankly, I love it.
The stock shifter in my ‘16 is the most effortless I have ever driven. When just granny shifting around town, a thumb, two fingers and a gentle flick of the wrist is all it takes. It shifts like butter. The clutch takes average pressure. Not hard or soft, but just right. Maybe I got lucky.

You know what, your right .The stock shifter works well on the street, normal driving and playing around a bit.
The Barton shines in competitive events. There is no linkage flex , just strong positive short throws. GOPR0075 (1).JPG

Bro, that would be eating me alive!
I don't know if I could wait that long.
Had a touch of semi dry pavement yesterday and still had to do a little bit of(useless) test and tune.
LOL - I get it, I do. But, I am building a whole car right now (turbo LS MCSS) and getting that road-worthy for the Spring is my priority. Building cars is much more rewarding than an afternoon of bolt-ons.

Actually my wife’s A8 Challenger is the first auto I have ever owned and it was an agonizing decision to go with auto over the M6 but since the car was to be her daily drive and I would be restricted to racing it on weekends it was hands down the correct decision. I’m not saying the A8 is better than the M6 because what does that even mean to each individual, I’m saying based on hundreds of time slips it’s faster and far more consistent than any human will ever be regardless of their genius behind the wheel .
I daily drive a 1970 factory circuit racing car more like your beautiful fastback Barracuda its raw and uncomfortable but as much fun as you can have with your pants on . Is the 3 speed on the floor better than the M6 because it’s more fun , of course not that would be ridiculous .

I like the heat reflective material on the coolant tank. It has always bothered me how such a high heat source is
located so close to the airbox. I have the same type of material ( Summit ) and plan on applying to the air box it's
self, now maybe the tank as well. Has it made a noticeable difference in your air intake temp.

Under the reflective sticky back is 1/4” insulation sheet, and the JLT air box, the throttle body inlet tube, blower spacer, double insulating blanket between engine and blower, all Coolant lines and the Intercooler pump will be insulated as well.

Yes, the bigger drag version, along D1187BAB-F355-4852-8124-5AD834DCC0B6.png with intercooler bypass and a 1 gallon cold water hopper tank under the washer bottle
