A2Speed was honestly one of the worst places anyone could take a car.
If you want, PM me the name that you know — I may be able to help you.
When everything collapsed at A2speed, the building owner let certain people come in and strip out the good parts. Ther were engines, transmissions, all kinds of parts, that never got into the many cars waiting to have them installed.
And no, I wouldn’t send anyone to where that stuff ended up. Many customers’ Hellcats were literally hauled/towed out unfinished. The person behind all of it was Eric Hourza, the same guy who started his scamming career selling double‑wide mobile homes. He was also involved with Arrington Performance back when it was in Virginia, and he put them in a terrible position with the same pattern of scamming.
He convinced some of his friends to get involved with A2Speed, and that turned into the biggest mess he ever created. After that imploded, he moved on to Petty’s Garage. I recognized the posting pattern on another forum and PM’d the guy and asked if he was dealing with an Eric — and sure enough, he was. Last I heard, Eric is only allowed to handle the website over there.
I’ve been around since 2011. When my husband finally got out from under all the scam shops and shady parts vendors, he worked hard to keep them off the Hellcat forums. This is a "birds of a feather flock together" group that he kept them off.
And for the record, I would never buy a Scat Pack that was “converted” into a Hellcat unless the work was done recently by a reputable shop. Back at A2Speed, those start ups were mostly paperwork and marketing with nothing proven. Even if some parts were decent, there are so many supporting components that have to be correct — and then you still need a tuner willing to do the R&D to figure out what was actually done.
