Agree. Thank God my boys are not glued to video games on the computer. They work on and appreciate Mopars. I get some comments on the Charger but mostly when it first starts up (especially when cold) and startles everyone within 50 feet. LMAO
That's the coolest part...gotta love it

The charger gets more attention than the challenger...there's just so few in comparison.

Most of the time I pull up and people are like... "that's a hellcat?"
I get that the most. It's actually..."Oh shit, that's a HellCat!". 😂

On the thought that's it's amazing at this point that car guys in general dont know the basic specifics of car is rather startling.

"So this is the super charged one?" Uh...yes. 😂
And I got this little nugget last week at my local 7-11..."is it true you get a red key and a black key?" Oh Lordy. 😂😂😂 I then show him the red key.

They’re not too common in my area so I get a lot of looks and the occasional “man is that a hellcat!?” But my favorite is when kids ask questions, cheer, hoot and holler. Hellcats to them are like legend, not a just a car more like some mythical creature

I park mine out front my work and I hear lots of "who's Demon is that" or "is that a Hellcat out there". Get some picture/video takers every now and then. Requests for revs, etc...

All I get is,, when are you and that car moving the hell out of here?? Just for that, another 6 months on the lease. Not the Hickster way. I am out of here in 6 weeks. Ass holes. Don't complain about the Z O6 next door.

I am one of those "old guys" who spent a ton of money getting my Barracuda in the low 12's, always looking for a car I could take out without worrying about some 50 old part finally giving out.
I am proud of building 12 sec street car, but then a buddy bought a scat pack Charger and ran a tenth faster with a brand new car... dam... impressive...
Please don't think I'm gloating over beating the old Mopars with my new car. I'm nearly 70 myself and I LOVE seeing the old Mopars still running at the track. Last time out, there were a couple of real nice ones running and I was excited to talk to the owners about them. In both cases, the owners asked "is that your Hellcat over there?" then proceeded to be very aloof toward any conversation. I'm planning to have my own old Mopar out there next year (building it myself) and then maybe I can have a chat with these guys.

True story

I had Michelin Engineering come to my house to evaluate my PS4Ss because I was having issues with them while driving ~175mph

When they were done (issue was determined to be valve stem flexing at speed), he said all he wanted in exchange for the visit was for me to start the car inside the garage...

One Cold-start and one rev to 5k and he was grinning ear to ear and happy.

Yes, a lot of attention LOL!

Bright red with racing stripes from face to ass, I get the same amount of attention as a blonde in Beverly Hills. Okay maybe not that much but still...

I don't even know where the black key is...never wanted my cat to ever get confused...

Bull, curious about what issue the valve stems were causing?

It’s always random when someone asks about the Cat or for me to rev it. Occasionally I’ll get a thumbs up here and there. I did have one guy come barreling up on me as I was cruising down the freeway just to take pictures of it.

The best for me is when I pick up my kids from school in it and their buddies give ‘em the ol’ “That’s a cool car!”. They always puff up in the chest and say “Thanks! It’s a Hellcat!”.

On the thought that's it's amazing at this point that car guys in general dont know the basic specifics of car is rather startling.
No joke. I’ve had my kids correct a couple of guys on the in’s and out’s of the Cat when they tried to rattle off stuff about the car. It was a proud dad moment, for sure!

Tires held air fine, not only in long term storage, but also upwards of 120mph, but at 165-175+, there was enough centripetal force to flex the stem just enough to cause a pressure loss...

Coming back from 175mph and finding your tires at only ~20psi (starting at 47psi) makes for a little bit of consternation...

I'm sure by most standards you would be judged as a responsible rational individual...now introduce driving your daily automobile at speeds in excess of 175mph...into any non racing arena...say a job interview..a foster parent scenario..a town board meeting..where your judgement or decision making skills are called into question...or even addressing the local ladies auxiliary ...you would clearly be considered a certifiable nut case..people would migrate away from you..the looks..the whispers..you would be a modern day social leper ….now I get it..I've done 160 plus on a local interstate.(totally irresponsible and not recommended)...to the point..the general public would consider you unstable at the very least...just something to ponder as your brushing your teeth

I remember when I was picking up my cat at the dealers. They were a little slow getting all the paperwork done, everybody in the building from the top boss to the maintenance person came by to look at the car and shake my hand. The parts dept manager even gave me a free touch-up pen. The dealership had just been taken over by new ownership and it was the 1st cat they sold. Now my chest is all pumped up, the wife & I jump in the car and go to leave, I stall it (m6) in front of all of these people. Talk about instant deflation, even the Hickster's girls wouldn't have helped....lol
