Is a rear diff brace recommended on a sock hellcat?

I also heard that they void the drivetrain warranty because they cause stress cracking. Can anybody substantiate that they actually cause an issue?

If you’re on a stock tire you probably won’t need one. If you put drag radials on and go to the track it might help. The main thing is to stay out of wheel hop. I put one on along with a one piece driveshaft right off the bat.

Thanks. I ordered a brace. I'll get sickly tires on it and head to the track next year.

I just ordered the new style brace for mine. It will get better tires in the spring. Going with a dusterhauff stage 2 setup.
The original brace caused some problems because it's too ridged for some application's

You might want to look at the DIRS brace by Per4mance Development. Their new two piece design addresses the issue of not enough play in the drivetrain (they say - I just put on on my 2019)

Spazzman,

That was smart. I spoke with their rep before I decided to buy a brace from them - answered all my questions. I just installed the DIRS and I needed someone to hold a part of it while I threaded a bolt up into the crossmember (wife happy to oblige), but otherwise I did it myself. Child's play for most on this forum, but working under cars is pretty new to me. I made a note at some point months ago that someone here thought it changed the ride - can't remember in which way - so I'm eager to road test it after the winter months.

Best,

Finface
