Google the F.A.S.T. (Factory Appearing with Stock Tires) racers. You will find at least two factory stock appearing cars running in the 9’s on OE belted tires with stock exhausts and full interiors. A 340 Duster with a Carter AVS 4 bbl running 10’s on F70 belted redline tires. They definitely do not do it for money. It’s all about skill and engineering but it goes to show you that factory stock appearing can be deceiving!

Use to street race long time ago
2 guys would come over to Windsor from Detroit every now & then & race for money

They were pretty confident
There was some fairly quick cars back in the 80 s on the streets
These guys would beat everyone by 1 or 2 cars
Small block Vega with 4 wheel lugs
Dam thing had nitrous some place but no one could ever find it
They opened the hood & trunk for people to get a "quick look"
Always left with someones cash

Warranties expire.
Its why i chuckle when people have issues with modding their cars because of "warranty"
Now if its your only car, then probably shouldn't be modifying it. But if its a toy or a 3rd or 4th car, who cares? Warranty turns to company revenue if its not used up. FCA has to be loving all those garage queen Demons right now.
