Hi all, I found your site and was hoping I could lean on your Hellcat expertise. I'm in the market for purchasing one for the 1st time, and have it down to two cars. One is a 2016, only has 2,500 miles on it, sunroof, 3M coating, etc.It is the dark blue color with black leather interior. The other is a 2017, has 6,000 miles on it, no sunroof, no coating. It's black with the brown leather interior. Both are automatics. The 2016 cost around $3,500 more than the 2017 (cars cost almost exactly the same, one has dealer fees and shipping costs. I was wondering what one you'd recommend? I don't know enough about the differences between 2017 and 2016 models to make a smart judgement call there. Any feedback and thoughts would be a huge help - thanks so much!

2017 may have the 5 spoke wheels, SRT badges on the grill, decklid and glovebox come with with the cat head and maybe a red LED Hellcat symbol on the steering wheel. There were some improvements to the supercharger bearings in 2017 (maybe late 2016?) depending on the car production dates. Check and see how long the warranties are good for? They both have a standard 5 year/60000 mile engine and drivetrain but if the 2016 was purchased in late 2015, the warranty may be up this year?

Another for the 17. New badge on rear, logo on seats, SRT on steering wheel that lights up, dipstick, 5 spoke standard, infotainment with better resolution and better SC bearings.

Go for the 17.
I had a 16 before my 19, but I believe the 17 had improvements over the 16 (depending on build date).

17 all the way! More improvements, and less likely to have bad blower bearings. With the 17 you even get the cool light up steering wheel.

17 is cheaper? No brainer unless youre like me and hate that sepia interior. That would be a deal breaker for me.

The most important thing..(that you didn't mention)...which one do you like the most...are you a sunroof guy?...an un treated black car?..do you enjoy cleaning it...or driving it...then you have all the points the other guys brought up..(all good ones)...but at the end of the day....don't let any of us melon heads pick your car for you...lol

I say 17 for reasons mentioned above unless something is steering you more toward the 16. Both are awesome cars. Regardless post some pics when you get it

actually, get the 2017. 2016s have cooties. And aren't worth that premium for just a few miles off the clock (at least to me)

Not a fan of it either...but a friend of mine has the sepia on his black RE...the more I see it the more I get used to it...If it was a super deal..i would consider it

I would buy the Jazz blue. It’s not as common as black. It’s also one of my favorite colors.

Are you tall?

Are you going to race it (on a track with a helmet)?

Tall, helmet & sunroof is a combination that can be problematic for some.

At 6'2", my helmet just tickles the roof liner without the sunroof.

Neither one meets my needs, I'd move on to another vehicle, even if that meant waiting, but that's just me. The OP has different opinions I'm sure or he wouldn't be asking about those two.

If you were forcing me to pick, I'd go with the MY16, and I wouldn't be happy about it...
