I sold my C5 back in March to a Gearhead buddy of mine. It's still local St. Petersburg. A good many of my Vette friends txt me that they've seen it going down the road...without me driving it. π
Here it is at the "12 Hours of Sebring" last week. I wasn't there. So, now my old car has been to...
The first cold front hit my area about 2 weeks ago after days in the 80's and nights around 60, we finally hit into the 30's & 40's at night. The DSRT was sitting in the heat, then cold. Upon start up the temps on the tires were 25/26. I could only warm them up to 28/29 even AFTER it got back up...
We got 4-6in last night and it's still coming down.
Reno & Sparks is very hilly as it bumps up to the Sierras. 2wd cars and pu trks are worthless.
Put the DSRT in snow mode and off I go. π
For the first time in my life, I'm putting away a car for the Winter. I've got about another week or so before the temps don't get above 40-45. So the Shelby goes into the garage. πͺπ’
The HellCat is garaged in Florida and driven occasionally by a "lady friend". π So it's doing ok.
Anybody ever been?
I stopped by today just for the photo op enroute to Salt Lake City to meet with a friend. So, I was not prepared to "hit the flats and see what she can do"π
Still, it's breathtaking and fascinating. Nobody was around either. About 130p. Sunny 63 and very windy.
I would...
Always found these cars interesting. Not sure why.
I Did Not know they were powered by FORD engines.
Anyway. I saw not one, but two, so I had u-turn it and get a pic.
Interesting how this only legal in California, and of course most of those idiots don't do it correctly.
And just because something is legal, that doesn't make it safe or the right thing to do.
In fairness from my viewpoint(BIG trk) it's about 50-50 that do it safely, the rest is just...
I've been mostly Tire Rack and they ship to my tire guy(installer) in St Pete.
Now out in Nevada, Tire Racks west warehouse is right up the street from my Wal-Mart DC, so I can just pay and go pick up. Just need to find a tire guy out here in Reno/Sparks.
Discount Tire was the exact same...
I spent alot of money with them and PAW back in the day. But had never been inside an actual store. All I can say is I'm glad I don't own older cars at present. Kid in a candy store is real. π
I was perusing the BMW M5 on Car Gurus when I saw what these cars are going for.
2000-03 production. $128k MSRP. Got some pub in a Bond flick. Had the S62 V8 from the E39 M5 in it which was cool and it was one of my "go-to" cars in Need 4 Speed back in the day. π
Either you're driving your non fun mobile dd or a company vehicle and 10-12 go-fast cars just passed you enroute to some car gig.
Saw this Saturday am around 10-11 on I-40 near Marion NC mm 81. All current Camaros SS & ZL1 and Challenger Hellcats/392.
I was sad. π’
