I had almost the exact experience. Had my Refeye for a year (my third 'Cat). As time went on I felt myself enjoying it less and less because of the "fear factor." Almost put it into the wall twice giving it 3/4 throttle getting onto a freeway ramp. I've been driving high powered cars for almost...
Thanks for your input. Only have 500 miles on it but I'll tell you I'm having a blast. Of course no where near the straight-line thrust of the Hellcat but a real driver's machine. Hard to explain. I realize a couple of guys on the forum had bad experiences BMWs. It happens. But, I did my due...
Okay upon further review I found this in the manual. if it gets low on oil it will pop up in the instrument cluster and tell you exactly how much to add.
No worries with that. I don't keep a car past 2 years, maybe three at the outside. That's why I did a lot of research before I settled on the M2. FWIW BMWs are always at the top of the JP power ratings for reliability. Who knows. Like I told my kids, if I don't like it I'll trade it. It's only...
Good question. No one at the dealership really seems to know. In the iDrive it's simply states oil level OK. Then you can push a button to actually check it real time. I'll try it later you have to drive 30 minutes continuously for it to check. When I take it in for the break in service I'll...
Totally different animal. I haven't really got on it yet because I'm breaking it in but I test drove one and wrung it out a little bit. In short, power delivery from the turbos is more like a rush. Hellcat is more like a hammer. Being 1000 lbs lighter and DCT tranny is it a nice touch.
Maybe. I'm about impulsive as they come. That's why I don't buy extended warranties. This is only my weekend toy as was the Hellcat. My Silverado is my DD
Well the deal is done. 2020 M2 Competition now sits in my garage. My first BMW or non-domestic car period.
Things I like:
-Car goes around corners like it's on tracks.
-Twin turbos have no lag that I can detect
-Killer sound system stock
-All M cars come with a free 1200 mile "Run in service."...
Update: I priced shipment for the oil and it's much too expensive to be practical (least expensive was $55). I'll check the local cars and coffee this Saturday for locals. Sorry guys.
