As a former Dodge/Ram owner of 20 years (used 1998 Dodge Dakota, Brand New 2004 Ram 2500 Hemi, and then a Brand new 2012 Ram Power Wagon) and now an owner of a 2020 Ford Raptor for roughly nine months, I decided to put a little Raptor/TRX comparison together. I’m using my 2020 Raptor as the base for comparison (specs below), and I built a TRX based off of the same options and attached the PDF to this post (minus the sunroof because I really didn’t want one, but it came with my truck). For fun I’m going to post this on a Ford Raptor Forum as well as a Hellcat Forum (links below), and see where the discussion goes from here.

Aren't you kinda sad that you got the Raptor now, just before they launched the supercharged V8 Raptor next year?

Not one bit. I really like my truck. I also think a Supercharged Raptor is going to be $90,000 or more like the TRX, which is more than I’m comfortable spending on a truck. Now, if in a couple years Ram discounts the TRX I may rethink things, but for now the Raptor is a great truck for me.

My true hope is Ram gives us a TRX without the 50” Flatscreen they currently offer. I prefer the 8” screen with hard buttons for climate control.

I own the Raptor as well and actually my second one since I regretted selling my 2018 only a year later to buy another one Lol. The Raptor is the baddest ass truck I have ever owned. And trust me I am a huge Ram guy and would have laughed at anyone telling me the Raptor is such a cool truck a few years ago. And yes the TRX is bad ass as well so not taking that away from her. I think it would be like a newer version of a Hellcat coming along and you and I arguing the former Hellcat is just ok. That’s what your feeling from us Raptor owners since yes the TRX is awesome but to write off the Raptor I would say not so fast😁

Didn't know it was coming but nice surprise. Thought ford had given up on v8 power but looks like they want to play This is what makes competition good, trying to beat the other guy

TFL is headed to Moab with their TRX and their Raptor. Here’s the first video comparing fuel economy.

Putting my bias in favor of the Mopar brand to the side as best I can. Looking forward to the dueling banjos when these are both in the hands of testers and consumers.

Owned 4 F150's and 4 Rams over time. Fords were Harley Davidson Edition, 2 Gen 1 Raptors, 1 2018 Raptor. Rams were a Rumblebee, a Laramie, a Rebel, and a Longhorn cowboy themed 2019.

I found myself in the same situation as the cars...Ford was 1st with a crazy car so I had a 2014 GT500 until the Hellcats hit the scene..

My Raptors were great...never had an issue with any of them although I missed the V8 sound in the 2018. Interior in the Ram is a level or 2 up on the Ford but the entertainment/navigation systems in the Rebel and Longhorn (12 inch in the 'horn) never worked right even after multiple dealer attempts to fix, which was really annoying.

Exterior looks...so subjective...both look good to my eye, it's a tough one.

Drove my orange Gen 1 Raptor more than 1/3rd of the way across the country nonstop in Feb 2012 when my mother passed away. it was a comfortable and smooth cruiser as best I can remember with the emotions going on in my head.

Pricing for the new V8 beasts will keep me from crazy truck world again (I think!). There are things I would like/need to do...with that kind of cash at this age and stage in life. If I hit the lottery...I would have one of these monsters for sure.

@04Ram2500Hemi and @ChargerChallenger: keep it coming as we get close to the Weds. Big Boy Raptor launch. Love the brand battles and watching the lines in the sand being drawn...fantastic!

Well said and damn every time I drive my Raptor I am just like damn I love this thing. And she gets down the road which just insane how that’s not good enough😂
And I will evaluate the TRX but right now I am on the Ford Truck side. I really love the looks of the Ford Trucks at this time and I do own the Ram 1500 Limited which is nice as well. I picked up my Freshly used Raptor 2018 with 10k miles and the person put a wheel and tire package on her as well. And now to consider the new Raptor😳 yikes since I will be amazed if she isn’t 88K and then the bs ADM. Which yeh add taxes and the goodies 100K truck. Meanwhile I own a Raptor that gets down the road and cost me close to half😁.

Always loved the Raptors.
Couldn't afford it when it came out but drooled over the Lava Orange one at a dealer I drove by every day to work.

A few years later, decided I wanted a truck and looked at used Raptors. Almost pulled the trigger on a procharger 6.2L one but it was the top of my budget. Again, passed on it because used and no warranty on something that was 2x more than I'd ever bought in my life.

Ended up in a 2013 Ram that I still have today.
I drove a couple of Gen 2 Raptors and while they were really nice, I just could not pull the trigger. Then Ram dropped the TRX and I have been holding out ever since.

Im sure the Gen 3 Raptor will be equally bad ass but I've made my choice.........

I went orange with the Digital Mud graphics on my Gen 1. The blue on my 2018 was stunning. Damn, now I miss those trucks!
