Air filter cleaning

I daily drive my redeye, so as I'm looking at the air filter and thinking about when it needs to be cleaned, are all of you buying a second filter to swap while you clean one,or just planning on cleaning it when you know you will be home for the day? Curious what everyone is doing? Also, is there a better filter than the OEM to run? Any links to purchasing a spare are appreciated, as are to a great aftermarket filter - thanks in advance!

I've got a MY16, when I still had the OE assy in there, I used a KN Filter. Had it stayed in there, I would have simply cleaned it on a no driving day.

But I moved on to an LMI, so while it's a different filter, I guess the maintenance answer is the same.
