Is it normal for the gauge to spike like this? Seems to spike on deceleration

On deceleration as in if I let of the gas mine goes to 18.

Yeah, there isn’t much demand for fuel on decel, you’re fine.

Completely normal, it's call DFCO (deceleration fuel cut off) and is a fuel saving feature on modern fuel injected cars. If you let off the throttle and still see the AFR doing something other than like 18 then something's up.
