Yawn… I was a kid in the ‘60’s, we swam in polluted water, breathed polluted air, we ate trans fats, cyclamates, we killed insects with DDT and chlordane, all gas was leaded as was paint, no ingredients labels on anything, everybody smoked including doctors (my Dr. was always chewing a cigar), asbestos everywhere, no EPA, no emission equip, I can go on for hours…

This is all extremist agenda BS. The woke need to man up and focus on cars! And no EV crap!!!
Yep, and you forgot many nasties as well. But I remember my dad spraying our house with Clordane because we had 20 cats that lived between outside and the basement, which had stone walls and dirt floors with a hand fired hot air coal furnace, there would not be a bug spider or anything of any sort for years afterwards. He sprayed it with a hand pump sprayer. Coated the pipes with asbestos paste mixed up from shredded asbestos mixed with Elmer’s wood glue, sprayed Paraquat in shorts and sneakers, made foam based with Toulene Dyisocyanste (sp?) cleaned the equipment with Triclorethane soaked rags, no gloves no nothing. Smoked this that and the other including Formadahide laced cigarettes, a friends dad was a mortician, others sniffed Testors Modle cement, and most of them are still alive lol. My teenage best friend who was the worst, year younger then me, died about 4 years ago of blood poisoning, he never quit, he lived a hell of a wild life though while he was alive, he didn’t die in a diaper at least, I don’t want to go that way either. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻

Most of the deaths in my generation, at least with the homies, was car crashes. The previous generation (the WW2 generation) died of heart failure and/or lung cancer usually caused by hugely bad diet, drinking, smoking, lack of exercise, suddenly too much exertion, and script drugs were primitive. These days, if you simply avoid excessive salt, excessive sugar/sweeteners, excessive fats, excessive eating, excessive alcohol, excessive smoking, and walk the dog twice a day, eat your veggies, take your script drugs, the vast majority of everyone will be fine, and the GMO’s will make absolutely no measureable difference.

BTW: When introduced, 1.1.1 tirchlor was the magic solvent! It really was great stuff, just don’t consume it!

That's the Biggest problem, there is just so much more crapp in our foods. Sure back when you are old enough to have so many chemicals around that was handled, our foods did not.

Eliminating as much as you can from eating foods that are basically fake and full of chemicals is a very good thing to do. The FDA will approve a certain percentage of the crapp in let's say a box of Cheerios. But that same percentage is also in another product. By the end of the week adding everything up can become a very bad amount that someone is eating.

It's like having too much ethanol in gas and then water is absorbed and your car has problems or is slowed down.

And @DavidKFla I remember having a Twinkie when I was young and never ate another one.

Take a Look at this Fake crapp!

Ever wondered what’s actually in a Twinkie? It’s a wonder it’s sold as food at all! Find out why it’s the poster child for Frankenfoods below and the key reasons why we’d never touch a Twinkie!

  • A single Twinkie contains 37 ingredients, but only 5 of them are ‘recognizable’. Flour. Egg. Water. Sugar. Salt.
  • Twinkies’ ingredients are manufactured with fourteen of the top twenty chemicals made in the U.S.
  • Wholefood ingredients have been replaced by chemical concoctions. For example, less egg has been used, as they’ve been replaced by monoglycerides and diglycerides - chemicals to bind fats and water-based ingredients, and extend the shelf life of the product.
  • It contains harmful ingredients that contribute significant risk to chronic disease including high fructose corn syrup (and 4 other types of sugar!) Yep there’s 5 types of nasty sugar in a Twinkie!
  • The unhealthiest kind of fats are lurking in there - hydrogenated vegetable fats (trans fats) which are simply awful for your health!
  • The vitamins, artificial colors, and flavorings come from petroleum.
  • The cream center contains absolutely no cream! Instead, it’s full of shortening - a cheap fat.
  • It also contains a small amount of sodium stearate - one of the most common ingredients found in soap! No thank you!
  • So many of the ingredients come from overseas including China, where there are hardly any regulations placed on their use. Scary!

I go nowhere near any of that garbage. If you don't know what it is, don't eat it.

Exactly!
I had stopped eating certain things for over 30 years. I could always taste the weird things in food. Now I know it was the preservatives. There was bread companies that would advertise, "Our bread is made without preservatives". I could taste them. Then I find out they lined the bags with the chemical. YUK!

I have used real maple syrup for 40 years. My kids were all brought up on it. I remember a time, when my younger son shows me with a smile on his face a bottle of real maple syrup he brought to a Pancake breakfast. My children were taught to read the labels. No we aren't %100 organic, but we are very conscious to try our best!

I’m open to some suggestions from your clean eating cookbook @DavidKFla

I love a Big Mac every once in a while. Never could resist the 2 for 1 coupons I used to get in the weekly flyers, haven't seen one in a while. Refusing to pay full retail price is keeping me healthy! :)

This is why they're called, "soy boys" because they're effeminate.
Exactly.

Back in the day as poor college students, one of the staples was Velveeta "Cheese Food". :ROFLMAO:

We laughed about it but ate it because we were hungry.
