ok' how many of you 392 guys would recommend the catless mid pipes ( pro's and con's ) ? i have chance to pick up a set really cheap from a buddy , he didn't install them because he was hearing of people having issues with the pipes rattling and the fumes from the exhaust being really bad.... so how strong are the fumes really ??
i know there isn't really any power gains, was just looking for a little more sound and not anything raspy... i have the tuning software to disable the front o2's also..

Which one's? I have the stainless works. They are a little louder and sound great. I made a few changes at the same time but appear to be worth 10-15hp. The fumes seem to be worse when it is colder outside. During the summer I rarely noticed it. You don't want to turn off the front ones. The rears measure how much fuel is present after the cats so when you delete them you get the CEL unless you use the spacers to take the 02's out the exhaust stream or turn them down in the tune

No, they only made the exhaust sound better. The install is pretty easy, if you don't like them change back but I think you will like them!
I recently changed my cat back to Hooker blackheart. It has some drone going through gears but once it gets into 8th it is gone. I actually like how the sound changes!

these are the ones Carl has...lol... he decided not to install them cause he heard of issues with rattling from the pipes and the smell of fuel.. i told him i'll buy them..;)

Can't say I have ever heard mine rattling. The internet can be good and bad but you can'y believe everything you read

There may be another set for sale, mine. We are planning on putting long tubes on Saturday. I'm thinking no more then 6 hours

I had a '13 Mustang and all the interwebbers were saying how bad it was, etc. It took the 2 of us 6 hours. The 2nd time we did it was 4. I think there is more room in the Dodge so we will see

wouldn't you still need the catless mids ? or do the long tube headers connect pass those pipes...

yep 1 7/8. I went with the Stainless power since they were under $900. They are currently on sale for 20% off. I can't see the $1600 long tubes making more power. As it is, Jay Greene is saying only 10hp

So there was a lot more to the install ? A lift would’ve been really nice, but I know how that goes thou. I Remember doing long tubes on my 06 GTO in my garage what a pain, had to drop the steering rack.

Thought you could get to all the bolts from the bottom but nope. Some worked better to get at from the top Took the motor mounts out but on reinstall took the driver side apart to get it back in. Bolting the headers in was easier then taking the manifolds out. Got hung up on the second tube back on the driver side top bolt talking manifold off. Took alternator off, airbox,starter, steering shaft, unbolted sway bar

Lift may help some

I still need to pick them up from Carl...lol
im really interested to see what kind of gains you get with the longtubes , I know they say 10-15 hp but what about the TQ curve. hows it sound now with the headers :cool:

Sounds a little different but not a lot being I already had cat deletes. I only started it, will drive it tomorrow
