Not sure if this has been posted yet but i looked and didnt see anything. Mods can remove if it’s a duplicate thread.
Sounds like FCA has this up their sleeve. Should be interesting, especially if it’s a limited production model. After the Demon came out people thought that was the swan song but a few of us had hopes for an ACR after Tim K. slyly commented that they weren’t quite done yet. This seemed inevitable. Can’t wait to see what happens.

Was thinking the same thing.
My only fear is the whole limited/numbered malarky again. That’s all great and all but I will never pay an ADM ever for any car.

Yeah I agree... I would not pay ADM either but do have a dealer in my area who was willing to sell me the Demon at MSRP. They had 2 Demons and sold them both too long time customers for MSRP. I may consider it if I can get them to do the same here.

Yep there were a few dealers who honored it then so if that happens again I may be a player. Have to see what materializes.

Wish list for a Challenger ACR:

  • VIPER ACR calipers (titanium/bootless pistons)
  • TIRES
  • Lower, linear-rate springs (tuned suspension and half-shaft boots that hold up)
  • Shocks
  • H.O. button!
  • Body stiffeners in all the usual suspect places
  • Tunable (and removable) downforce (canards/wing) (manually tunable is just fine, cockpit is my pipe-dream)
  • Side-skirting? Diffuser? Splitter?
Dare I say it?

  • 426/2.9 combo (HEY! It's not like it doesn't exist damn it! It's RIGHT THERE, all they have to do is drop it in with a streetable tune!)

A good chunk of the Demon diet wouldn't be appropriate for this car, you want a lot of that capability for the track.

Some of the diet would be in how you ordered it, No HK radio, rear seat delete, etc etc etc.

I read this yesterday, sounds interesting, but will probably be something expensive/low production. Anyway, isn’t the real question “is there any challenger coming”?

No Bull they need to flat knock off 500+ pounds. Forget all that other fancy crap. Then we could more than rip them. They could go with not much besides good bushings, adjustable camber front and back some spring and shock work like Bilstein and Wesley have been working on and four 12” wide wheels mated to 335/30 Cup 2’s. Give me one like that less at least 500 big ones and it would be very competitive. You folks wishing for more than 797, that is not happening IMO. The ACR may be offered in a 6sp (SCCA LEGAL), therefore all you will get is 717.

@TrackDay got the Demon/RE axles to hold up with Mopar springs now up at the master torture track, more than once, so the boots are good with what we have now.

500lbs should be easy in an ACR car. People would be willing to pay a premium for a premium car, so use premium lightweight parts and you'll be all set.
I agree with the deletes - should come standard DELETED.

How about including a performance data recorder as well, similar to what Chevy has.

I think it will be a Redeye based car and my guess would be this.

Wider and stickier rubber 315s v 305s
Big ass wing
Bigger brakes
Bigger front splitter (hopefully with no yellow guard)
Different suspension
797hp tune
1 seat

Im sure they will allow the car to be tarted up, and if its a limited edition it they will mostly be luxury trimmed when sold.

The idea is to get transaction price up again. We all love the power dollar rebates however, the Demon had none of that and sold just fine. So Dodge is going to well the again? Will it sell?

I still believe a big reason the Demon sold was 840hp even though that required race gas to get there. And as stupid as it may sound, i think Dodge might need to do it again to generate the car buzz to get units moving.

Right now the GT500 track package is the hot ticket just from reading FB and mustang forums. That is a 100k car plus markups. However, the ZL1 1LE now comes with an auto, and GM can't sell the things. Last December a Chevy dealer about an hour from me had 7 of those ZL1 1LEs marked down to 62k plus TTL. If you had the cash or qualified for financing you got the car for 62k!

If this is true, id expect it to be 90k plus MSRP.

The public info says the last ACR concept was killed because the lightweight parts made it too expensive. It also had to ride super rough to try to keep up with the Z28.
Since then...
Electronically adjustable shocks
+300 hpwith Redeye
305/35 tires instead of 275/40. The wheel wells will fit a 12in wheel on all 4s with at least a 325 tire as well for a limited production car
A lot of learnings about suspension tuning and aero on these cars from the WB cars as recently mentioned by Jim Wilder at the Charger WB launch.
I can tell you Kevin Wesley has vehicle dynamics engineers helping out his efforts to track these cars. That has to help positive feedback for any production efforts.
On a related note Wesley's Redeye Challenger was about 10 seconds per lap faster than my car as it sits at Road America. I was stunned. He was also 15 mph faster than me on the straights (3 times per lap) with Bilstein coilovers and much wider tires and wheels. He's not just making 797 hp though as he uses Ignite E85. Still, that bodes very well for the potential.

Needs solid aluminum rear cradle bushings! All other bushings in the rear should be a firmer durometer than current. Let's eliminate wheel hop in America! Screw the NVH!

No wheel hop on road courses.
