I have been hearing groaning sounds when turning at slow speeds the past couple of weeks along with a slight “knock” when turning hard in reverse. Then things got a little worse and it didn’t want to move when turning hard, had to give it some throttle. Seems like it was binding up.
Dropped it off at the dealer and they found the transfer case was toast. They said it had some damage and the fluid was black so the transfer case was burning the oil. My DDHC only has 4,000 miles and they suspect it was a manufacturing defect from the factory.
While diagnosing they also found they have to replace a module since the FCW and Stability Control lights came on. Luckily, all parts should be in the middle of next week.
