Well I’m done with the dealership. I keep telling them to put synthetic in and they don’t. They also spilt oil all over the belly pan, which dripped on my driveway. I asked them to wipe it up after they change the oil. Guess what? They charged me a $7 shop fee to clean up their mess 😂

What full synthetic oil is everyone using in the 5.7 Durango R/T?

Well I'd tell you to run the P.U.P. 0W-40, but it specifically says "SRT" on it, so it won't work in an "RT" motor.

;)

Royal Purple 0w40...... If Royal Purple is good enough for BES Racing engines to use its good enough for me.

Doesn't the 5.7 call for 0w-20?

5-W20, I’m guessing because of the MDS

Wow, that sucks with the dealer. Most around here don't even stock dino/conventional any more. For instance our Jeep dealer out in the country started doing full synthetic on our Cherokee when I took it in a year or two ago, and when I asked about it, they said ALL oil changes at their place were now synthetic. Of course they benefit from being able to charge for it LOL, but I was kind of pleased to hear they made the change.

Valvoline RESTORE 5W20, good shit!
I’ve used Valvoline full synthetics and Maxlife oils for probably 20-25 years and have torn engines down with 275,000+ miles on them and they look like new inside, this new restore oil even keeps things cleaner then their previous oils.

Been using the high mileage on the jeep but picked up the new restore for my once a year old change. I put around 5k a year on it

Not a Durango but the same engine-5.7 hemi, wife's 2015 Challenger R/T-Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-20. We've owned it since new and switched over to P.U.P. after 3 years or so. It runs smooth and quiet..
