Hellion Twin Turbo kit…..going from Maggie 2650 to turbos…..

After being an S/C guy my entire car life, I’m venturing out and trying turbos. It’s my tuner’s “wheelhouse”, which swayed me easier. I had a target of 8.9 full weight on my current setup and I believe I would of hit that this fall without issue. I’m looking forward to learning the car all over again. Launching will be the biggest hurdle to dial in to equal / better my current ET’s, but I’ll get it.

I’m going with a Hellion kit with 6466 turbos.

I’m also going to use this Goertz1 air to water intake that will run off the coolant tank under the hood and be chilled by my FI
interchiller.

It will also have a two-step, which will be another fun toy to play with. I’ll be able to leave on a couple different low boost settings to hopefully mirror the launch I’m used to now.

The setup comes with an electronic boost controller and I’ll have various power settings available at the tap of a button all while retaining my flex fuel setup. Boost setting “1 and 2” would be safe for 93 or e85, boost setting 3, 4, 5 would be good on pump e, but not 93, and then boost setting 6 would be an e90 pure race dedicated only.

I’ll be making the move early August. I’ll provide updates, pictures, etc. as the process goes along.

Like the intake. I'm just not a turbo guy. Do they work, yes but something about a supercharger to me is way cooler. The turbos will melt the snow for you in the winter though:unsure:

Sorry to say butt ster fastest car I ever owned was a Toy ota er Supra twin turbos. It was stupid fast. Had a vette 6 speed very fast and got my ass handed to me by a Supra twin turbo. Should have known better, but didd rn en't. Dumb as a hill Billy.

Sorry to say, neighbor accross the street had a Grand National and his biggest set back was turbo fins kept flying apart and wrecking the rest of his engine. Did not have a problem with the Jap car but whom to say how he reved his engine. Shine time.

Finally someone going turbos. It will be a whole other animal now.

The key 100% is the builder and tuner.

I would have switched over to turbos, but I’ve got so much into my car there’s no way I’m switching directions, if I’m gonna drop that kinda coin again I would just get another car to turbo. Which is what I’m doing lol.

Good luck with project. Can’t wait to see how it comes out.

I’m targeting similar power to now, but on about 5 less psi. That will be the every day setup and we’ll see how it goes being bumped up from there.

It’s going to fly, you’re going to love it, you will not miss the supercharger and you’ll not regret your decision.
As long as the install is perfect and you have a great tuner (as with everything).

Me also,,, can't wait cause I want to go that direction. Just all the problems the guy accross the street had with his grand national. 2 different critters,,, I know.

Stock A8 for now.

Dave, the hardest part is going to be getting the launch to hit like it does now, but in a less aggressive way. If I can mirror 1.3x 60’s, it’s going to boogie. I have a demon converter (forgot what it stalls to), but I may have to go a little bigger if we can’t get the two-step to handle it for me. I’d hope to build a couple psi off the foot brake, but at least 6-7psi with the twostep. That would give it the “low timing” like launch it has now, but with a more killer top end.
