Well, after long and painful deliberations I ordered the ET Street S/S to compare with the 555Rs. Will report back once they're here and eventually on the car. As noted, going on 11 x 20 PKA 5 spoke rears.

Also, I have to chuckle at the reviews section of Discount Tire. Most of the reviews for these drag radials were from VW owners; Turbo Beetles, Jettas, crap like that. Personally, I'm not sure the tires can handle the massive torque produced by those monsters of rock!

My son ran 555Rs on his charger HC. After he wore them out he switched the mickeys. He says they are much better and would never go back to the nittos

I'm happy with them on my stock wheels.... I imagine on an 11" wide wheel you will be very happy.

They're expensive but man they made my hellcat feel like a totally different car.

Will be an interesting comparison. I went back with 555Rs as folks reported 5,000 - 7,000 miles on the ET Street SS. I wanted mine to last a bit longer and I get 10-12K out of the 555R.

Good to know - I have HAD (EDIT) two sets of the 555R and one set (returned) of the PS4S.

I'm going to try and do as precise a comparison as I can to hopefully shine some light on this. Our cars are so setting specific though, unless every single thing is identical I believe result actually vary significantly.

The 555Rs I have have given me 9,000 to 10,000 miles. Not bad for a DR. And they are $200 or so cheaper (for 2) than the MTs.

Depends on the purpose of the tires. At the track the Mickey should hook every time where the Nitto's will be hit or miss at that power level. For driving daily I would trust the Nitto's in a monsoon (know from experience) but would not drive in rain with the Mickeys

I used to run Nittos on the street and put Hoosiers DR's on for the track

I wouldn't run Nitto's on my 392 at the track since my Mustang with 1.6 60 ft times were hit or miss. My 392 does 1.6's

Be really careful with the Mickys if you're using them for a DD. A buddy of mine got caught in an unexpected rainstorm and totaled his Hellcat. They hydroplane like right now.

Have to say the 05r's I run are pretty good for the hook...BUT, like the MT ss, rain is a stopper...NEVER try to drive in any water, I can tell you from experience they are unforgiving and WILL hydroplane at very low speeds. Mine are 315's in 20" on factory WB rims.

Had lots of drag radials, and never put them in the rain. Asking for trouble. Not a DD (I have my OEM all-seasons on the front and the rears on the OEM wheels in storage for long distance highway duty where rain might happen).

305 MT arrived yesterday at one of my businesses. I looked at them, seem in okay shape for UPS or whoever shipping them naked and not even strapped together. Did not have the room to load them up. Now will need to set aside some time to get them swapped onto the 11 x 20s.

Will say this, whenever I get new tires they always seem wide as **** when they get here, but of course they're not really any different than what I already have.

Just curious, after you install on rim and air up, would you mind seeing how tall they are. Reason I ask is the 05R in 305 was a little smaller than stock junk...that's why I decided on 315's...they are a little taller.

Having run sets of both the Nitto 555r and ET Street SS I can say mileage and wet traction are pretty much the same between the two, but the Mickeys hook better without a doubt. I would buy them all day over the Nittos, they are worth a little extra money. I'm finding them to be about $20 more per tire or so - no?

When I ordered from Discount I saw a difference of $60 between the two for each tire, so a total of $120 more (plus tax) for a set of two.

Ok I just checked and yeah it looks like the Nittos are now $328 per tire, down from $350, the Mickeys are still $375 like they always have been. I would still go with the Mickey Thompsons if you can swing it for anyone else buying...

When and where, 2? My installs are usually $20 or free, but the base cost of the tire is worth investigation.

Also, I like the fact that MT prints "Mickey Thompson" in raised black letters inside the center tread groove. Just plain cool. Also, while totally subjective, the MTs feel softer than any of the sets of 555Rs I bought. Though, like my earlier observation about how they seem wider than what is on the car now, I'm sure it's just observational bias.
