This has been talked about a few times so I'm starting a thread on it. To get a license you need to make 2, 9 second passes. For safety equipment over the helmet you need at least a single layer jacket 3.2A/1 and that is it. Looks like there have only been a few over 300 issued

Took almost 2 months to get my license and another couple weeks before I received my stickers

I have to run a 9 first. If I do, it won't be a regular thing.

I wouldn't mind getting mine. Was surprised they didn't have something at Moparty.

Interesting 🤔. That is certainly less expensive than getting the 7.50 license (Super Gas/etc) and 8.50 car certs previously required to go under 10 seconds.

I'm still trying to figure out how to read the damn manual, irrespective the minimum, a neck device at lower 9.0 speeds is suggested and recommended.

I haven’t read it either. I guess the neck device they are recommending is the donut because you need shoulder harnesses with the more advanced stuff. I would agree with that added protection. This license as I read it is good only in the approved street legal late model car. It doesn’t allow a ride in anything else like the actual competition license does. Sounds like a reasonable compromise

So @vortecd and I were confused. But if you read it. Technically you don’t even need dual layer clothes. Just single layer whatever the number is on that and a proper helmet is all you need. Jeans may be all you need I can’t remember. @vortecd and I bought dual layer clothes pants and coats. But that was before we realized it wasn’t required.
