The shiny one is a homebuilt V8 bike, kind of like a boss Hoss, but not really. I rebuilt and restored it when my dad died. The pic of me in the snow on a V8 bike is a Boss Hoss, thatā€™s a 1998, pic taken the winter of ā€˜98. The little bike is the ā€˜73 sportster I got from my dad, which I grew out of and then my little brother turned it into thisā€¦ lots of custom fab on it. Itā€™s back in my garage awaiting a heart transplant. GSXR parts for suspension and brakes.
Ive had a few bikesā€¦ but these are the pics I had handy. I rode a PanHead to high schoolā€¦

The 1948 is in a museum in Oklahoma now, blue one is in Sturgis, not sure on the Maroon and White one and Orange one is in the DFW area. 263D22DE-6201-4327-B074-CF4B5AAFAE59.jpeg FF6C0E80-04F9-4DC1-BEF1-A42167F5D65C.jpeg 09A0B52C-8213-4FD7-87CD-5EA0388AD49E.jpeg ADCA1D33-86B2-4A15-AC38-1BBF68C72DFC.jpeg EF6068D6-6E50-44BB-A60D-404A9C961075.jpeg D6B0557E-68A6-48B8-9A59-D62E2A2E417A.jpeg

Damn that sucks and I so wanted to do this type of racing when I was younger. But yeh sorry to hear and trust me I know the pain since I have done so much manual labor and serious weight lifting back in the day. My shoulders are killing me and sometime the back as well.

The ā€œSpeedwayā€ thing involved frequent entanglements. I raced 3-4 nights a week in SoCal. It was real big there in the 70ā€™s. Orange County Fairgrounds would pack in 10,000 fans every Friday night. The big track at Ascot Park in Gardena was fast. 100mph sideways on the dirt with hay bails for ā€œsafetyā€.

Great suspension on those!
Haha. You noticed. Most Americans have never seen Speedway as itā€™s called. Big in Europe. Back then it had a following in SoCal. We didnā€™t run mufflers or mud flaps like they require now and we could mix Nitromethane into the alcohol we used for fuel. On the small tracks like Costa Mesa, if you sat in the front rows on the turns, you needed protective clothing. If you want to see hair raising.... check out Speedway motorcycle crashes on Utube.

Familiar with that man. That's back in the day; good on you.

EDIT: built for speed with those sprockets

I think this picture was taking in 1999-2000 when I was road racing. Some where I have more pictures of the race bikes, just not sure what photo album they are in, lol DED8F7B2-EFC0-4610-837C-0C91F7204C49.jpeg

The story of my life... most of my photos (of all kinds) are non-digital and there are a ton of them, exactly where they are is a mystery. Even my digital stuff I usually don't label well so searching is a PITA. Be smarter than me!

I have a feeling mine are in the shop packed away from the last move.

I cannot decide if you are the most brilliant man on the forum, or the stupidest.
Very cool, but a V8 bike terrifies me just thinking about it.

I can scare myself on my 4 cylinder R1 easily enough. Came over the crest of a hill last summer on a country road, i had to be going 160 or 170...there was a tractor towing a wide baler doing maybe 10 mph, and taking up 1.8 lanes. I couldn't see around it, so just prayed nobody was coming, shot hard left and went around it, in the small gap of pavement left, then was the drop off to the gravel shoulder...i love that mostly deserted road, and use it to blast up and down like it was my own personal race track. After that I slowed to half my normal speed on that road for the rest of my ride. If I had a 400 hp bike, I would kill myself in under 3 minutes.

Oddly, I couldn't find a pic of my 2002 Hayabusa :eek::cry:

Started late in life and rode for a dozen years. Sold the Streetfighter and stopped after too many friends were killed or seriously injured and I kept thinking about my young daughter being without a dad. One was killed by a young girl who left turned into him and another was knocked off by a deer leaping across the road. Hit him broadside and fractured his pelvis. He was in rehab for a very long time and never walked without assistance again.

That was when I lived in NJ. Overpopulated with deer and texting drivers. Every time I hear a bike I feel the strong urge to ride again. In PA now and seriously considering another. My daughter is older now. Visited several dealerships over the Winter but didn't pull the trigger yet. I really enjoyed modding them and every ride was like a Zen experience.
