Not sure what's up, but in my 2017 Charger HC if I push in power button (knob) the Uconnect screen powers down completely.....not just radio?

On mine I can't even turn off the radio, only mute it.

Thanks for the reply.
So strange that my dashboard below the screen has a "mute" and "screen off" button, but the volume knob is also a power button? This button turns the entire screen and all functions off. Has to be a glitch.

Check to see if there is a glitch. Its supposed to mute when you push the volume button and the screen off turns off the screen.

Thanks for the reply.

On the 2017, the power button is no longer for mute, there is a separate mute button on the opposite side of the "screen off" button. The volume knob is actually a power button now for some reason.

Sounds like Dodge is finally listening to their customer's complaints.

On my 15 HC Charger... mute.

On my 19 GC Trailhawk... powers down.

Was glad to see this.

Also... the 19 still has the turn screen off, option, as a dash button.

my 19 does the same thing.
My 16, it would just mute the stereo.
Very frustrating.

The power button on my ‘18 powers the screen down, as well.

Thought it was odd at first, but have come to like it.

FCA changed the way the power off and mute buttons worked around 2017, then again in 2018, and again for 2019. The reason... FCA made the engineers do stuff to justify their pay checks and confuse car owners. Wait until you see what they've done for the 2020 radios.

I’ll be honest, not once has this bothered me on my 2016. I’ve actually never even thought about it until now.

You can so add a screen off soft key, to the APPS menu, with AlfaOBD, if you don't have one:

so that will prevent the screen from shutting off when you mute the sound?

That will allow you to turn off the screen, without muting the sound, or turning off UConnect.

I don't want the screen to turn off when I mute. That is the problem, it shuts off whenever I mute.

In the 2015/16’s people were complaining that there was no way to shut the radio off so they implemented that in 2017. It progressed from there I guess.
