Snowing - started about 2130 or so - should be up to 11 inches

So the HC is off the menu for tomorrow. MT ET Street SS no like the snow methinks. And underneath is a ton of ran and then sleet that fell for hours before. Where much of you live, like up in the Great White North, this is nothing. But for here, and folks who rarely see this, it'll be a catastrophe of epic proportions. I'm sure all the chili and fritos has been bought off the shelves of the Wal-Mart.

That sucks, but up here in Michigan, a couple 6” snowfalls and a few dustings is all we’ve had all winter. Mildest winter ever for me.

That’s a lot of snow for a place not accustomed to getting it. I was in Charlotte for a dusting and the whole city shut down. People were sweeping their driveways because they didn’t have snow shovels, let alone snow tires. Good luck!
FWIW - Buffalo hasn’t had a good snow yet, very mild winter here.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE a white Christmas, but I remember Easter Egg hunts in the snow... no fun! Of course, there is always trick-or-treating in the snow too, nothing like hiding your costume under a snow suit!

The snow is coming to BUF tonight though, through tomorrow.

Yeah we have built SnowBall Bunnies.
Last year Easter was a fine Spring day with green grass coming up for the egg hunt.
Next morning I'm laughing and yelling over to Kate Its snowing!


We are rain all week here.

Yes, 11" accumulation. We got it like this when I was young here, but since I've moved back max has been maybe 4 or 5 inches. This was rain and sleet for 12 hours, then 11" of snow, silver dollar size flakes (some high winds to knock it down / carry it off) and then continued snowing today. Will melt tomorrow. Ground is still retaining heat (it was 76 on Monday) so its not ice (except in places) but it compacts down sufficiently to make it a problem. And yes, the big problem is no one knows how to drive on it. I cleaned the cars off and backed up the driveway (yes, I have a drive way that slopes down) and could have gotten in the street but there is no need. Best snow we've had here in a long long time.

At Christmas we drove out to my place in the Rockies and timed it just perfect. Drive in with just enough time to unload the cars, then started snowing, so a white Christmas for our first time out there in this new cabin. Then on and off snowing over the next 10 days. When I was in my 20s with the climate changing most snow out there had moved back into January, so I was really glad the kids got to see it like it was in the old days.

I'm not sad that it's not snowing here. Unfortunately, we are entering the time of year when we usually get our worst snowfalls. Seems like over the past 15 years or so we get some big one or even a blizzard right around Easter. That was great when I made side money plowing snnow....but I don't do that anymore....so I don't need it to snow at all. I can't wait to retire and move someplace warm.

Well that storm system has been coming through here all day. I'm so glad it's been as warm as it has been or we would've had a blizzard with over 2 ft. of snow.
