Why did Ram change the name to just TRX instead of Rebel TRX?

To me it makes a clear distinction between the already existing Rebel and this new model

(Shhhh, don't look to Challenger as an example...)

What Bull said, to make a clear distinction between the Rebel and the TRX. Ram doesn't want you to think they just took a rebel and slapped a Hellcat engine in it. They actually changed quite a lot, including about 75% of the frame with extra strength to reinforce it (especially around the suspension areas).

More info on differences in this video:

Yeah that makes perfect sense because how many Rebel guys will be badging their truck to a TRX. And yeah uh huh that crap goes on with all the Challenger and Charger guys that have look alike Hellcats LOL.

For that kind of money they really should leave all badges off. Some are harder to remove than others.

Too many syllables for the average buyer

They do not want to dilute that "brand"

Right! I mean look at the Charger Daytona Hellcat special edition blah blah package for example. Even the Challenger Hellcat Redeye Super Stock is a bit much too lol

Which is why those don't sell in big numbers.

I won't buy it, not because of the name but what it costs. It's not worth buying a "limited edition" version of something that's just a sticker package. It won't be worth any more than a regular version in the coming future when someone wants the next greatest thing.

Same goes with the TRX launch version. I like the paint, but besides that it's way overpriced, especially with others demanding ADM. I refuse to pay that. Not only that but the Launch version while fully loaded doesn't appeal to me. I like to pick my own options. As it is too many options are bundled or they force you to get one thing or another.

If I was to buy one, I'd definitely wait for the Landing Edition.
Anything can be launched, but the landing can be critical.

It's all about the value proposition. If it ain't there, you'll sell a fair number to diehards and people who will play with it, but as far as turning it into a hit, not happening. I think, at least for me, at this point, the value proposition is not there. Maybe when they're much cheaper and we're at 7000 off plus more... I'd at least look at it. Maybe.
