Transmission thermal bypass and/or coolers.........
Anyone running either, or both?
I was always under the impression the ZF8HP transmissions wanted to be around the 200* temp all the time. At SEMA I had teh pleasure of discussing some things with an engineer for Sachs performance.
I ask his opinion of the thermal bypasses available.
From what he said. The heater is there to get up to operating temp quicker. However its up to temp, its best to keep as cool as possible. He stated IF YOU LIVE IN A WARM ENVIRONMENT to do the bypass, and even add a cooler. I live in South Louisiana where we probably see less than 40 hours a year of freezing temps. So.....
Who (if anyone) is running a thermal bypass?
Who other than REVMAX and MMX sell one?
Is one better than the other?
Anyone running a cooler as well?
Im not expecting to see any improvements in power or ET, but if I can reduce wear and tear I figure it cant hurt. Right?
