Hi.. I want the tires to remain inside the fender wells.. I think i need 10.5 wheels. Also may need a little cutting of some plastic
underneath.. Rather not go with the street slicks...thanks.. New here and should be fun!!

Welcome aboard!!! This is a great forum!
Tire and wheel combination varies a little by the car (widebody vs narrowbody and Challenger vs Charger), but I believe you can go up to 10.5" (maybe 11") wheels and a 305 tire to start for all. Wider with some others...

I have a narrow body challenger, but have Phillips performance fender flares and have a 11.5 wheel with 335 30's on the rear.

This is a fine example of getting large rubber under one. @Hunter that is a nice one. Make sure you let him know about the wheels.;)

You really need a street tire and a drag tire, there really isn't a best fits both. Buy some 17" with some Mickey Thompson for the track

This is where I ended up, 305/35 Michelins for the street on 10.5 in replicas and then a drag wheel/tire set up when I'm feeling frisky or hitting the test n tune.

I have 305 PS4S for the street and 17" 305 MT's for the track. The right tool for the job.

That is what i was thinking.. I want that extra inch inside.. Does your 10.5 do that? Also, i have read
the NITTO is very good.. What 10.5 did you have? Thanks

Thanks for this info.. I am hoping that the street ones will suffice for my minimal track time, although
am not ruling it out. Thank you

Yeah it’s mostly tucked in the wheel well, but at the same time I had minimal rubbing of the plastic inner liner so I had to trim it a little and heat a couple spots to re-form. So I have the PS4 summer tires, they still spin pretty easy if I want them to but it’s so much more capable than the stock joke 275s. Car shifts so much cleaner with better tires. My drag wheel/tire is cheap, Bravado 18s with ET street R 305/45r18 and they work really well! Very happy with how the car performs. Now on those 10.5s if you want to just use a street drag radial 305/35r20 there’s the Nitto 555r2 or Mickey ET street s/s, I couldn’t say which is better. I have run et street s/s on other cars and they work well, I also had a set of 555r Nittos a while back and didn’t like them nearly as much, they seemed barely better than a good regular street tire.
