I’m running corn in the summer. I’m sure a lot of combos work well, you’ll just need bigger injectors and potentially better pumps depending how much power you want to make.

I more interested in if people are using pump e85 and what their combo is on their car. Real world experience, not the general info.

I switched to a flex tune in October, LOVE the added power. Added a solid 5 mph to my 1/4 trap speeds, here’s dyno graph of 93 and e85. Negative is car guzzles the stuff but I’m never easy on it, I think my avg is like 7 mph. M6 even in this cold of Pa I’m doing mid 11’s on cold asphalt. Fuel system if I’d but again I’d really look at Steve White Motors dual 285 drop in set up tat still utilizes a fuel bucket around the pumps as 1/4 tank really needs to be treated like empty as far as aggressive driving goes as the fuel pickups do get uncovered leading to a loss of fuel pressure. Yes, I use it from the pump, all Sumer while I was testing if every few weeks deciding if I was going to try it or not, it tested 83-85% all summer, tested 2 weeks ago was 75%. I purchased a 55 gallon drum of e98 that I mix 50/50 with the 75 to get 85 but I think the 75 would fair just fine on it own.

E85 is like crack for your car.

I run a 2.79 for daily use on a flex fuel tune and a 2.50 on a more aggressive E85 only race tune.

I've ran both on pump 85 for almost 2 full seasons now. On the race tune I've found 75-80% ethanol (as tested via tube - not the car's reading) is the absolute lowest it'll tolerate.

I've had the full Dusterhoff stage 4 setup for 13k miles total so far. 0 issues that I havent caused myself. Curt is only ever 24hrs away and when we did need to make adjustments...from datalog to new tune during the week was 24hrs or less typically.

I use pump E-85 for street use. I test it every time I fill up. If car hits the dyno and track I use Torco 85. Soon might be egnite 90 for the track. Pushing 1100rwhp and 1010 torque right. 1700cc and a triple pump fuel system. Looking to push more power it’s always best to run better fuel when you smash the gas.

Presently myself with guidance from close friends who have been doing such for years but my car is a manual and the engine portion of tuning is MUCH simpler then auto’s are. Auto Trans tuning and matching such to the engine tune is a art best left to the pro’s for sure. My tune on e85 is mild at the moment, more tweaking is needed come spring and track days.

I talked to Frank today. We talked about doing a 2.85 pulley and e85. I would like to be around 800-850 hp with good drivability on pump e85.

Curt, I may be contacting you about a few things. I'm curious what you think about what 93 pump is capable of with the 2.85 Litens, ID 1050's, 185* thermostat and custom tune. We weren't able to get an accurate number on the rollers but I'm thinking close to 800rw. I've been running this combination for over a year with zero issues. (18-19lbs of boost)

Love my set up, the ease of finding 93 on any trip and the damn good mileage considering the power increase, but wouldn't mind a bit more rw for these Texas boys running around with 850-900+ on a regular basis. Got a few max effort Z06/ZR1's and a few exotics I'm rolling with. Push of a button on good fuel to net another 75+ rw might be nice for some of our roll-ons. Not sure about going the e85 route (the extra $$$ for fuel upgrades and corrosive properties of the fuel) or just straight unleaded race fuel for play days. Just not sure what I can squeeze out safely with this combination (stock fuel pumps, 2.85 / 1050cc injectors) with good race fuel and a dual/flex fuel tune.

On pump, right off the street, full weight, Nittos and +1000 DA day...1.50 60ft / 10.06 @ 137.5.

E/T Streets could get me there but I'm trying to do this with the Nittos (roll in it at 1500rpms). Balancing act for sure but I like a challenge. A good -DA track day...gonna try again. FB_IMG_1612278150908.jpg FB_IMG_1612278156970.jpg

10.0 at 137 is a good run with the weight you're at on those wheels/tires, etc. One thing I'll say is E85 isn't corrosive. Modern fuel systems are designed for it, so no big deal there. I personally wasn't a fan until I started playing with it. I run a flex fuel setup now and it's freaking awesome. I had to tell Curt he was right as he tried to convince me a while ago LOL. I'm tuning it myself, and there are some intricacies so just make sure the tuner knows their stuff. Curt definitely does.

The big benefit with E85 is the volume of fuel. It has a cooling effect that keeps things nice and happy. You'll likely need bigger injectors though. The race fuel I use is Renegade RM109 and it's about $15 a gallon. Works great but race fuel is pricey. I literally run the same timing map on my alcohol timing table in the flex fuel tune as I have in the RM109 tune and E85 around here is less than $2 a gallon.

Thanks for the info Speedy...something I'll consider for sure. Yeah, can't beat the cost benefits when it comes to e85 vs race fuel. I had always heard e85 could eventually play havoc on the factory fuel system that's not set up from factory as a flex fuel system. I know some shops recommend running quality 93 every once and a while for better cleaning properties.

Yes, for sure I would need to increase the injector size again and possibly fuel pumps but I'll get with Curt on what he suggests to get where I'd like to eventually be if I decide to chase that HP number.

I'm running the ID 1050X injectors, are these too small for a E85 setup? Running the hellraiser 2.72. In first gear I was pulling 13.7% DC and at the end of the run 62.6% DC for pump 93 with two gallons of race gas thrown in for insurance (not the final tune).
