Saw a Super Stock at a Mopar Car Show Sunday and immediately identified it as a 2021 vs. a 2020 when I noticed the front calipers being the Demon all Aluminum Billet style as Ron pointed out.

However to my surprise I also noticed the front rotors were the one piece style with no slots.

Are you sure? The 21’s say SRT now on the calipers dont they? Unless the smaller ones don’t, not sure. I know the six pots do.

You're right Slowpoke387, the 2021's are supposed to have SRT on the calipers, I didn't even notice that !

However, the car was definitely a 2021, the owner just received it a few days ago. He said it took almost 4 months to get.

Just looked them up on the Dodge site. Looks like the ‘21 SS doesnt get the SRT on the calipers. Prob not enough room on the smaller ones.

Yes I noticed this on all the 2021 Scat Packs I looked up. ALL still had the unicast Rotors. No big deal and the 14.2" brakes can still lock up at will, so they are still plenty powerful enough.

I originally assumed that they did this because of a supplier issue and to consolidate part numbers or economy of scale etc. But now I think I figured it out. It's due to California emissions ban on certail pad materials. On the Hellcats they increased the size of the rotor to compensate for the different pad material. On the 14.2" brake they went to a stronger caliper.

This now raises a question about the front brake pads whereas I'm planning on swapping them off with ceramics. The replacement Power Stop Z23's for the Demon front calipers is Z23-1298 which may not ??? be the case with the 2021 SS, although I think it most likely is ? I best check into that before I order them !
Thank you.

Lots of confusion on this. Even Power Stop isnt sure right now. I've been reading posts on it and havent seen a clear cut solution yet.

You're right; I've been in contact with Power Stop and they have no P/N for the SS front pads listed at this time.

Interestingly when you compare the caliper specs on the Demon with the 2021 SS their identical @ 1.73 (44) Brembo four piston, however the only difference is the Demon is shown as "Fixed With Aluminum Housing" and the SS is "Fixed Monoblock Aluminum".

Note: the spec also list the 2020 SS as "Fixed With Aluminum Housing".

Not sure if that would make a difference for the pad, thus why I'm assuming the Power Stop Z23-1298 which I know fits the Demon will fit the SS as well ? --- but would prefer to get confirmation before I order them.

I'll stay on it and report back if I find anything.

Update: As of 4/23/21 Power Stop says they have no listing for the 2020/2021 SS yet and to keep checking their website.

Similar situation as with the '21 RE. They're just a bit behind the times. I have installed the '20 SS brake assy on the front of my '21 RE and I can tell you they are the same as a 1320. PS won't have to make a pad, they just have to do the homework necessary to determine what parts will work for the newer applications.

^ all my opinion, btw.
