Apologies if this is a dumb question, but I need some advice from the experts.

I am interested in ordering a 2022 Super Stock, but the Dodge Canada site does not offer the option to build/price one like you can on the Dodge USA site. I have contacted two local dealers, and they both said they "hope" to be able to order in the new year. I emailed Dodge Canada a few days ago and no response.

Considering all the supply chain/chip issues, I am trying to plan ahead so I can get the car in May. "Hoping" to order in January isn't very reassuring since it may take 12-16 weeks (i.e. May) for the car to arrive.

I don't want to miss the boat and end up getting the car in August or September only to have 2 months of driving before winter storage. Want to be proactive and do what I need to do to have the car by May.

Any thoughts or advice? Thank you in advance.

While I don't have any answers you need, I know a few things.

- the assembly plant was down for a month or 2 until just after thanksgiving but I suspect it's only down to 1 daytime shift rather than around the clock and weekends. I drive by it occasionally after hours or on weekends and the employee lot has been empty then. There are new builds way back in the holding lot but it's sparse. Probably about right for a reduced daytime shift.
- I would assume 2022 order banks would be open now? They should be building 2022's as of now. edit: just came across something that said 2022's start up on Dec 27th so they might be still filling out remaining and backlogged 2021 orders.
- Canadian customer orders do go through quickly, at least prior to this pandemic. I mean I placed a factory order in 2017, and had the car built and delivered in a little over 2 weeks. Things are likely a bit different now, but once it's built, it doesn't take long to deliver it locally as it doesn't have to shuffle across multiple holding lots and rail yards. Although there is a possibility that SS's, like Daytona's might need to make a stop at the up-fitters which I believe if they still use it, is up in Bolton.

While I don't know anyone there currently, you might try calling Brampton Chrysler if any of the sales people there might be more open about the true state of the order banks.

Received this reply from FCA Canada: "Please note that the 2021 Challenger Super Stock and the 2021 Challenger Hellcat Widebody with 6-spd manual transmission are not available in Canada. They are only available in the United States."

Reasons given were market research/customer demand and availability of materials. I totally understand that the US market is more than 10x the size of Canada's, but it's ironic that Canadians weren't even given the option to buy a car built in Canada. I assume they crunched all the numbers and decided it wasn't worth it. I hope they have changed their minds for 2022. Will know pretty soon I guess.

If not, I think (?) my only option would be to find a dealer who imports used cars from the US and is able to find a 2021 Super Stock at auction.

Just an observation here. The RedEye,
Super Stock and Charger were never available with a 6spd.
That being said I know of two that tried to order a SuperStock. One the owner couldn't put in the order as it had disappeared from the order screen. The other ordered in spring and still has no VON or VIN. So likely once again us Canadians get screwed.
The order banks should open up soon for 2022 models up here but some models only show up months later. So it is possible the SuperStock may not show up until January or later. Back in 2017 this was the case with the TA for some reason. They were on the road in the US but we couldn't even order one.🤷

Thank you for the info. About the 6-spd, sorry I wasn't clear earlier....I was also looking for a 6-spd widebody Hellcat as an option but could only find automatics on the CDN build/price link. FCA says no 6-spd Hellcat and no Super Stocks for us up here!

Thanks for the links. Pricing on those Super Stocks certainly reflects their rarity up here. If I am "permitted" to order a 2022 Super Stock, that will be the way to go for me. If not, will be searching for a 2021. But if pricing is approaching Demon levels....

I hadn't really thought about a Demon, but it's intriguing. Legendary Motors in Halton Hills has a nice black one with 9 miles (but no crate) for almost the same price as the red one you linked.https://www.legendarymotorcar.com/inventory/2018-dodge-demon-2404.aspx

Thank you very much Dan this is extremely helpful. So odd that I have now talked to three dealers and none of them know about this.
Thanks again - much appreciated.

Clearly, 2021's were built for the Canadian market - not many though. When I search today on Kijiji Canada - 4 vehicles pop up. All 2021's. Some hefty mark ups.

Remember those are Canadian prices.
MSRP on one if I would order would be about $120k if I remember correctly.
The third dealer is not that far from me and they are a used car dealer. They have a friend of mines modded Hellcat for sale for over $100k .🤦
There is one in Ottawa at the dealer I bought my truck from and they were asking $149k.
Crazy to pay $20k over. IMO

Don't forget this new additional kick to the groin: https://www.bdo.ca/en-ca/insights/tax/tax-articles/luxury-goods-tax/

I don't think it's law yet, but they're sure trying.
We get screwed like that here in Quebec.
We get taxed an extra 1% for any amount over $40,000 value every year on our registration fees. So that is not a one time thing. It occurs every year until the book value in their eyes is less than $40k.
I won't even get into the engine size surcharges we have on top of that.😟

That's absolutely outrageous.
