Hello all!

I put together a tried and true Pump Gas package awhile back for Hellcats and have seen very good and safe results. When this customer reached out to me about modifying his TRX LE, I applied the same knowledge/experience I have from the Hellcats to the TRX. This was the first Trackhawk/TRX we have done and I did not expect it to put out this much power to ALL FOUR WHEELS! I have yet to see any TRX’s on an AWD dyno let alone one that makes 700+ to ALL FOUR!!

Plan X Performance Pump Gas Maxx Package:
*Litens 2.85” upper pulley
*Pinned crank/stock lower pulley
*FIC 1000cc injectors
*FI Interchillers blower spacer/blanket kit
*JLT catch can with 3oz extension (makes it 6oz capacity total)
*Denso IKH22 spark plugs
*Unlocked PCM, security bypass cable and tuning done with HPTuners in collaboration with MundyTuned

Customer wanted to add a couple parts for more sound: BWoody Performance CAI kit and AWE 0FG Black Diamond tip exhaust

If you are interested in getting this package or any other performance modifications done, shoot me a DM on here or send me an email to: planxperformance@gmail.com

0-60 results will be posted soon :)

Thanks!! It is my good friend/tuning collaborator’s MundyTuned! Mainline ProHub is the best dyno out

I would recommend adding a 180° t-stat and possibly a colder set of plugs.

Colder plugs were installed. Lower temp thermostat will do nothing.

Looks like you're the only tuner in the country who doesn't install it.

Mine was always suffered from heat soak. No more.

Just because everyone else is doing it, does not mean it works. The engineers that designed the engine chose the temperature of the thermostat for a reason. I trust them and their knowledge and research over what other shops are suggesting. Lowering the overall engine temperature is not a way to make power.

It's for federal emissions and stock daily driving.

These cars are famous for heat soak under drag race conditions.

Lowering overall engine block temps in a race situation is a very effective way to accomplish this from not happening.

This is just my opinion. Everyone has their own opinions. Enjoy.

If heat soak is what you are battling, there are much more overall effective ways of preventing this than making the engine run cooler. The different metals inside the engine expand at a certain rates and that was calculated when they selected the thermostat temperature for the engine. As well as helping the piston rings seal, fuel atomization and burn, exhaust gas temperature, etc

We did not do one. 580ish being RWD with the front driveshaft pulled is what I’ve seen multiple times from other places

Couple things - many people can do a hot lap at the track and better their previous run. This is not uncommon. Heat soak is a real thing, but it isn’t always detrimental.

The 210 thermostat is ideal for stock cars, and for emissions among several other things, as mentioned above.

The lower tstat starts water flow sooner… which allows you to control temps easier. It doesn’t necessarily lower relevant performance temperatures in a meaningful way… lowering IAT is much more important than ECT. I’m sure Dodge included it so that during prolonged stress on the motor (the people buying stage 2) the likelihood of overheating is reduced if you give the cooling system a head start to cool it.

A hotter motor makes more power. The engine is tighter and the thermal efficiency of the hard parts has improved… we are not talking about the colder, denser, air here.

Here is a good source-

I don't know if we are comparing apples to apples here. During the warm season or in a warm climate, the stock 203 thermostat is definitely out of the "performance" zone. And if you turn your car off and let the heat soak up into the blower...well you will find out real quick heat soak is real and definitely detrimental. Very different than cooling a car down, making a few passes as the motor and fluids warm up, but there is not heat building into the top of the motor as it is still pulling in fresh air and running. The redeye's chiller feature almost completely counteracts heat soak for when the car is running, it's cool how you can run the fans when the car is off too. Think they would build these features into the car if heat was not a problem???

I hear you. But you guys have to remember that this is on a vehicle that will not be drag raced and is simply daily/street driven. The FI blower spacers and blanket help lower the IC coolant temperature and reduce the blower heat soak tremendously, along with creating a better seal around the intake runner to cylinder head. Which is why we install those over a lower temperature thermostat because it’s much more of a gain for overall performance. Now in a more specific drag race application or per customer request, we will install a lower temperature thermostat.
