I was just commenting because your original post said your wife would be driving it and you wanted her to be safe. I think it takes a little experience to drive on the street with those…
I agree. For some reason she's decided that she no longer wants to drive.
We're just about home so it will go back in the garage and I'll use the Ram.

How are these in the rain? I have a pair that I want to put on my Scat Pack. Since my wife drives it, I want her to be safe.
Tires have always something been something I've been anal about...don't drive the cats in the rain or my bikes..my Ram DD sees 45000 a year (in all weather)..by the time it hits 20 thousand I'm replacing tires..I may be an idiot...but I'm not crazy..I don't fool around when it comes to tires...

The all seasons the cats come with will do as bad as any in the rain. you for sure want the TC and SC working to the max. drove mine once with the 555R's in a rain. like driving on freezing rain. The type of pavement has a lot to do with it also. We have slick asphalt.

I'm building an inventory of tires and wheels in my garage. I need to use some up.

I didn't read all the posts and I dont know about the 2s but Nittos are Dragradials and I would think not rain friendly
@DavidKFla if your wife can baby her car through rain then they are probably good to go.
If not then she will need to learn to wait it out ........for the rain to stop.
My husband was a driver and could plow through anything.......if he had a sliding accident Oh well he could fix it.
Me I dont like sliding and I like to avoid t hff e paperwork of an accident . I can navigate through snow, but I did not like driving with Nittos but I could safely get to where I was going safely.
So your wife would just need to learn to be cautious!

Drag radials and heavy rain, I'd say no unless wife is highly attentive and skilled and wants the dry performance for her own use. Otherwise a good all season is the way I'd go

I just did the power tour with them although we never hit any rain just a damn road on the way home today.
She's just not driving much at all anymore. Says that she wants me to drive her.
I use the Ram for a daily driver so it goes back into the garage except for special uses.
These are cut with rain grooves

I am glad you are liking the NT555RII tires. I would keep buying them for daily driving if I lived where the weather would permit it. We still get the occasional cold morning with 80-90's late day. I have not had any issues with them in rain and believe they are really quiet for what they are

Oh yeah...all the stock wheels and tires from my cats are on pallets in my whse...as well as tires and rims going all the way back to my 89 BMW M3...on custom Fittipaldi wheels (the rage back then)...I always say I'm gonna get rid of em...someday..;)

Wheels from Japan (for another vehicle) arrived and rears (staggered) have NT555. Difficult to get hold of in UK so I’ll be interested to see what they are like. They look OK but been in transit 14 months so will wait and see. I chose to keep the tyres on as about same shipping cost as no removal/disposal fee and easier to resell if I don’t keep them.

I think these Nitto's would good for street driving. We all know our cars need the extra grip for the Torque = "Laying down the power to the ground"
I would use use these on my car and maybe even try them at the track too!
But I still would be mostly cautious about turning corners in the rain. That experience is not a good feeling!

PERFORMANCE RATINGS

Dry Performance is a 5 out of 5

Wet Performance is a 2.5 out of 5

Quietness is a 2 out of 5

Ride Comfort is a 3 out of 5

I always send them with the car, sell or give away. What else can you do with them?

Well you will always have another set of emergency drag radials if needed.

John would always explain things to me about all of our vehicles for the handling of them on the streets. He would say "Just take it easy" If it was my car he would want me to drive, But he was the buyer of tires, 4 wheel trucks, manual vehicles over the years I had learned many things from him and especially about safety.

Just go for a ride and let her drive you. Experience is knowledge!

She just tells me to drive and has been asking me to take places. I ask her to drive like on the tour and she says no that she enjoys riding.
