Rear widebody flare questions….

Now that the 170’s are out and I’ve had a chance to look at the rear flares without the fronts…. I like it. Running the 315’s on my standard Challenger makes a mess that I don’t like. I’m running spacing with my rear wheels that tuck those tires in as far as you get without tubing. So… what about the factory flares? How might I go about mounting them? I’ve seen the aftermarket stuff with tape attachment. Don’t think so. Can the OEM flares be mounted on a standard body car that wasn’t designed from the factory to have them?

I recall seeing a few threads where some were doing it when the WB 1st came out. It was NOT an easy or inexpensive mod and required modifying the fenders + cutting the holes for the mounting tabs. The rears are going to be a lot more difficult to work with than the fronts

Thanks. I also recall seeing the holes with the pre-installed fenders. That’s why I was asking. There was a Challenger at a recent track rental that had it done and I was going to look at it find out how it was done. Then I got busy and forgot.

I’m trying the uni ones be here Tuesday. For 340 bucks worth a shot

Don’t do it. I have the Phillips performance ones on my car though without the front. Looks way better

These are 315s standard body backspacing 10” wheel with a 14mm spacer/longer studs

I go back and forth on removing them all the time. I had a shop paint match them to the car. Have the front but took them off

Put some ppf under them and glad I did. Can see where the wiggle I guess under wind and vibration. These are on there pretty good with tabs and (gasp) magnets

There is a template for mounting to the standard body if you buy the widebody factory add on kit. There’s drilling, cutting, and welding a pice of sheet metal onto the quarters.

Yeah if you don’t mind doing it to your car (which I know you don’t lol) I’d say go for it. They just still look too weird to me

I almost picked up a set of those but the magnet mounting made me nervous + I didn't want to sacrifice my OE mud guards.
Looked around for a while for a set that was too messed up to really use that I could take & experiment cutting on to see if they could be modified for the flaps but that never materialized.

At 180 mph I don’t know about magnets or sticky tape. I’m gonna want some actual screws in there. 😂

Spacers have always freaked me out.

they also still wanted to rub the back of the plastic well liner without them. It’s no big deal, they’re perfectly safe. Installed longer rear stud in new hubs, and they’re hub centric. I also have the aluminum spacers rtvd on the inside of the wheel to take up the extra space of aftermarket wheels so they actually mount and sit round directly on the hub centric spacer lip

They’re custom slip on spacers with the hub centric lip and I have 1” longer studs just about. Perfectly safe, a lot of people do it

This isn’t those bolt on junk with different studs in them. These are made by an American company to order to size in Texas
