A very special day...honor those who never came back..so that we may enjoy the things we all do today...they did it for us...keep them all in your thoughts and prayers today...we owe them a debt we can never pay....
I know of a way we can repay it - by continuing in perpetuity to fight to preserve the freedom they died protecting, so that their sacrifice was not in vain.

I know I've told this story a few years ago...my son lives in a suburb of Pittsburg...every memorial day an elderly woman places a small American flag on every lawn in the neighborhood...(some 100 or so homes...)...she is up @ dawn to make the rounds...she's been doing it the 12 years my son has lived there...last year..there were no flags..the thought was she passed away...this year my son was up early..and spotted the woman a few houses away...(she was in a motorized wheelchair)..he went and offered to help her finish the placement of the flags...she told him last year she was bed ridden..they talked and she told him her husband started the tradition in the early 80's...and they had lost their son in Vietnam...she carried his picture in her purse...her husband passed in 1990..my son helped her with the last 30 or so flags...THE WOMAN IS 94....the loss of a seviceman...is NEVER forgotten by the families...God bless that woman
Prayers for all the families who have lost loved ones who gave their all for this great nation and all those that gave the ultimate sacrifice: so that the rest of us might enjoy this great country.
Prayers to you brothers and sisters!!
