I am going to the US Nationals tomorrow - I went to the open house at Don Scumacher Racing this afternoon. Saw a couple Hellcats there:

NHRA = Not Helping Racers Anymore

When I got out of racing, the NHRA didnt give a squat about the sportsman classes. Payouts are shit while trying to chase a "Wally"
Most guys I know chase the big dollar races and only bother with NHRA if the event is during an open spoy on the calendar.

My brothers and myself raced pretty heavily in the 2000's into early this decade when we started families.
A few of those years, we actually made money. Not much but we did come out ahead
