Hey all, I can't seem to find any other threads that mention whether side skirts really seem effective in preventing rock chips etc. down the side of a car on a wide body. Do they seem to work? Worth getting?

I'm looking at the ZL1 Addons side skirts BTW. Honestly, I'm not crazy about how they look in particular, but if they also add some protection I can get over the looks of them. I already have their rock guards installed and I plan to at least have PPF installed on my front facia also pretty soon....

I have them and for a WB I think they're a must. I was on the shelf about the looks before I got them but really like them now.

Thanks for the reply! I'm just asking because I've haven't taken my car on any long trips yet, so I don't see any Knicks whatsoever in mine - yet.

I watched the install video, and the install itself seems/looks straight forward...looks like small aluminum clamps that you bolt onto the pinch welds on both sides. Any problems with the install? No rattles or anything?

-And if you have rock guards installed like me, do they fit nicely in between the front guards and rear flare?

I'm torn on the WB in the first place, but if I do go over to the dark side, I'm pretty certain I'm going with those.

Well Luke, I was too until I got one. But I'm just fine with it now.

I like them but am wondering if the mounting method compromises using a pinch weld adaptor in the front or rear in order to jack the car up?

Had mine for a long time now and love them. I've had Xpel on the rockers and flares since day one and when the side skirts came out I got them. They very much keep the lower rockers and front of the rear flares protected.. Screenshot_20190916-164950_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20190916-164950_Gallery.jpg 20190323_160035.jpg

They look great Jeff. I dont suppose you can jack the car off of the pinch welds now though, right?

Jack the car off? 😂😂😂😂 very funny Tony..
I don't think you can lift the car by the pinch weld with the side skirts on. I lift the front by the frame rail with this puck and the rear by the factory lifting puck. 20180424_145314.jpg

At the price we’re paying it wouldn’t seem too much to ask! I’ve got those up front as well.
Ok, that works, thanks pal.

Ah, I thought the Mustangs were so equipped for flotation purposes. Challengers usually don't end up in creeks, though, and shouldn't need them.

They should probably come with airbags around the outside to protect the crowds when they go squirrelly at cars and coffee
