My RV happens to be for sale. It's left hand drive, though.
Not that it really matters. You could run into a lot of stuff without hurting it.

And there's room for a small vehicle in the back. View attachment 49956
Looks like James Woods vampire hunting truck.(y)

Not familiar with that one. Is Jimmy's going-four-wheeling truck close enough?

I'm obviously completely out of the loop here.
Maybe because I've never watched much TV...even after I finally got one. And it was free.

Ted Bundy during the 80's used to drive around in a van and lure people to "help" him move various large objects in the van. His passenger wouldn't survive the event. They electrocuted him in Florida I believe in the late 80's.

Shame I've not got the right licence for that.

Contemplating a much more modest 26'11" Winnebago Sightseer which looks roomy enough inside as 2x slide outs. Its got the 8.1 vortex on a workhorse chassis rather than the Ford Triton which doesn't seem to have a good rep.

Ah, you of little faith.

The Pete is registered and insured as an RV, and the trailer as a "trailer coach", as they called it in California.
In other words, no need for any special license.

Besides, the trailer is only 13 inches longer than that Sightseer, and is rated to pull 63,000 lbs. behind it.
Oh, and except for the steer axle it's all air ride, so may even ride better than a Winnebago.
Plus, parts are cheaper. Well, over here anyway.

I'd love something like that but could be a handful on a country lane

Any articulated needs HGV licence over here and rigids go by weight regardless of class. Rigid to be under 7500Kg fully laden for car licence or a HGV licence is required and if aged over 45 an annual medical needed (although these are reasonably cheap and easy to have).

A few years ago just for the hell of it I had wondered about getting a tractor unit and removing the 5th wheel so I could drive it on a car licence, you can pick up a euro sleeper with circa 750K miles for sub £5K.

Theres a whole different world of RVs out there, if you have someone drive it to Silverstone or some Euro Grand Prix and then fly in by helicopter then the £450K twin rear axle 40'+ coaches seem ideal or arrive by Rolls Royce and slum it in a converted Mann lorry at £250K+ o_O

If I decide on an RV (been contemplating one for years - my day van is great but too small to take my cats away for more than 1 night) then I'll put off the TRX until next year but thats not the end of the world as I'm happy with my Rebel.

Yeah, I had a feeling it wouldn't be all that simple.

But every time I visited England (SW of London) I kept thinking how fun it would be to try driving the Pete there. Of course, I thrive on challenges.

Kudos to you for thinking about getting a tractor just to drive! They are fun.

We can always count on you to try to weasel out of things, Magnified. But it's completely understandable since in your profession your livelihood depends on being good at it.
When I do it, it's just for fun.

So there.

I think it'd be best if Magnified gets to decide if he wants to fess up or not.
