Battery went dead and I replaced it. Now the AC clutch will not engage on the compressor. I checked fuses, all good. Anybody had this happen before? I am about to the point of getting rid of this mess. Well Dealer said I would have to leave it with them 3 days. I said no! rolled up my sleeves and dug into it, seems the clutch relay is bad. swapped it with the horn relay and ordered one from Ebay. Hopefully a done deal.

I mean did you test to make sure it turned in after swapping the relay?

Yes I pulled the horn relay and plugged it into the AC clutch socket and started the engine and the AC came on and worked fine. Put the old AC relay into the horn socket and the horn does not work now with the old AC relay. So something is bad with it.

I dont understand what happened to it, unless a voltage spike occurred when the battery cable was connected. I don't recall if the AC was in the on position or not at that time. May have popped the relay.

Could be a voltage spike/short, hopefully it doesn’t blow again. Let us know how you make out
