Anyone done an electric power steering conversion?

If you have the fund patience and access to all the parts I’d do it. Interested how you came across everything

Basically what we are doing is changing all the harnesses (headlamp to dash harness, chassis harness, and dash harness) to 2023 Redeye harnesses, the engine harness we are using is a 2023 D170 harness as that should be the only harness specific to the D170. Since the D170 uses a standard 0-5v reading for ethanol content we can use the innovate motorsports ethanol content sensor I already have and tie that into the D170 PCM. We are going to use a new D170 PCM, and all new modules, and program the D170 PCM using a wrecked D170 VIN. This will get Witech to pull all the EFD files for all the modules for a D170 and flash the new modules. I also have a new D170 RFHub with keys.

Is it something thats worth it for everybody, probably not. But for me having a 2015 without a lot of the features that the 2018+ cars have and the car being apart and the harnesses needing to be changed, I figure it's worth it.

Sounds like a solid plan, let me know how you make out and what you had to do. I a8 swapped mine from m6 and functions like it left the factory with it. People said I was nuts for doing that ha

Just an update. New PCM, BCM, RFHub, dash harness, Uconnect 4 radio, and engine harness have arrived. I swapped the dash harness and RFHub yesterday. As soon as the chassis harness and headlamp to dash harness come in we can start buttoning it up. The RFHub came with 2 fobs, 2 keys and a new door lock cylinder and glove box lock cylinder.

It's been a bit since I updated this. The rest of the harnesses finally came in and we got the car wired up. Some work with witech, and CDA6 got all the new modules programmed to the D170 PCM and VIN. Everything seems to be working correctly EXCEPT that I need a uconnect radio from a 2023 car. The D170 actually has a unique radio part number, the one I have is from a 2019 so it seems to be pulling 2018 Demon info and doesn't have the trans brake option on the screen. Getting a 170 specific radio probably won't be easy so I'm hoping a 2023 radio will pull the info from the BCM, or that it would somehow be able to get programmed with D170 software. Initially, I figured all the Uconnect 4 radios were the same but there are multiple part numbers that span different years. The door harnesses and door modules changed somewhere along the way so I am working on getting those for a 2023 car while I wait for the PCM to come back from HPTuners.

A few options on the drag screen show as unavailable to change but that is doe to there not being an adaptive damping module plugged in, that has finally arrived as well.

Another interesting fact is the Demon 170 uses a factory boost a pump deal which appears to be a voltage stabilizer part #56029583AC used in Cherokees and Compases. That will be here in the next couple days to confirm as well.

Car is running and driving, flex fuel works, shows E content in the cluster, EPS works, now we have to work through a bunch of gremlins. I bought a used Adaptive Damping Module from a 2023 Hellcat that isn't playing nice, hopeful to find an EFD file for a D170 and try flashing that to the damping module, but will most likely have to buy a brand new one specifically for a D170. Also going to have to swap out my ABS module as that isn't happy either. I haven't added any of the AC stuff yet but that will be done shortly, pretty much all of the lines are different than 2015 hellcat, the AC compressor is also unique to the cars that came with the factory chiller, and I'll also have to add the factory chiller in. The intercooler pump won't run for some reason, it gets commanded when the car first starts and then spins down after a bit and shits off, I can seem to command it on with a Tazer though and it will continue to run.

I replaced the UConnect 4 radio I had with one from a 2023 and the D170 features still aren't showing. We are currently unsure if that gets the information from the ADM, or if it is specific to the D170 radio. I have noticed that the D170 radio has a unique part number that is likely the case.

I'll update as I work through these issues.
