Those I6 motors have lots of problems it seems. There was a Grand Wagoneer getting a motor replacement in the bay next to my 170 when it got new spark plugs. Whole body was off the Wagoneer for the swap and parts scattered everywhere. No clue how they'll get it back together properly.

I have memories of my uncle racing one way back in the day on a dirt circle track somewhere in New Hampshire. I remember them talking about the torque that they made.

Looking back on it now, I'm sure it was all relative. But with that all said, I still don't want them compared to a blown V8.

No comparison to a blown V8 but once the I6 is proven I would choose it over a 5.7. I know hearsay.

The problem is the Hemi is ancient and extremely heavy with the iron block. The HO I6 makes almost 200hp more stock than the 5.7 and it will be simple to add another 100hp on top of that. That’s also taking a lot of weight off the front end which is better for everything.

Unfortunately they need to work on the sound of it. The B58 sounds good so Dodge can do the same.

Woohoo 180hp of fury. Times have moved on and gotten way better. The I6 in the BMW is credited with improving the reliability rating of the entire BMW brand so it’s possible. With that said I wouldn’t buy one in the first two years.

You know how when choosing between two girls, of which, you know one is easy but ugly, and one is frigid but hot, you still pick the hot one...

That's my argument...

I get it but the 5.7 isn’t even hot, especially in a 5000lb tank. If it was all aluminum and 450hp it would be a different discussion.

or they could of just pulled out the old AMC plans for the '82 or '83 Turbo Spirit, that little 258 made 470 hp and 500+ lb-ft of torque with a single turbo, and a crappy fuel management system. they only built one, saw it back around 2010-11, used as a pace car for a few races way back when. add a few decades of improvements, avoid the cheap ass parts tavares brought us, and sequential turbo's, I'd imagine it'd make that low-bidder bmw wannabe look weak

The HO version in a 3800lb vehicle would be sick and I’m a huge Hemi fan.
I agree. I just dont like putting premium in both my hellcat and truck. 3 years ago premium was only .40 a gallon more then regular. Now it's .90 more. And my hurricaine does not get any better milage than my 2015 5.7 ram did. So I bought an 8 year warranty in case turbos are a problem later down the road.

This gets about 4mpg, and 110 minimum octane....and has ZERO warranty. LOL

I love mine in my Ram laramie. Smooth, powerful and quiet.
I've owned four Ram 5.7 Hemi trucks. Excellent motor, not one problem. I'm glad the Hemi is coming back...
