True story

I can can t cook

Wife goes out now & then with her friends & her dad thru the week . She is retired.
She eats like a bird
Breakfast is at work & is generally cereal of some sort, banana, breakfast bars, etc..
Lunch is at work & is always leftovers or some form of vegetable / cheese / lunch meat
For supper I eat whatever is put in front of me & NEVER complain !!!
I don t eat much to offset my beer consumption

Looks like I m cooking Sunday

My dad would get drunk and refuse to eat until his drunk was over: always stated "I'm not eating and ruin a perfectly good drunk".

We go thru the 'what do you want' struggle every time we eat out, which is becoming less & less.
Breakfast & lunch are 'roll yer own' except for Sunday when she makes a full on breakfast (eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage & toast).
She also does most of the baking but I cook the dinners. I HATE doing the dishes, but she doesn't mind.

It can be hard to cook for 2, so a lot of the time I'll do something like a big pot of meat sauce & we'll have spaghetti all week or I'll make a large pan of lasagna (which actually freezes very well once chilled).

Luckily my 98 yr old mother that lives 3 doors down..is an incredible cook...her meatballs are to die for...and I grew up on her sauce..(enough said)...when she makes sauce she freezes it in qts. so we always have it on hand..(I could eat spaghetti all week)...she even makes her own pasta with imported Durham flour from Italy...she tried to teach my wife...but my wife said..yer mother doesn't measure anything ...and has no recipes written down...it's all in her head...my grand mother (my mothers mother)..lived till she was 108...I tell my mother yer cookin for another 10 years..

The squirrels are interesting. We use the baffles. When the snow gets deep then we have a squirrel and deer problem.

We have feeding areas for deer..birds...turkeys..chipmonks/squirrels...sometimes our backyard looks like animal farm...but when the hawks and fox appear...they must have a universal warning language that they all understand...cause they all scatter...

My grandmother was the same way - awesome cook. I stayed with her for a while when I was going to school & tried to get the recipes, but it was impossible - pinch of this, dash of that add more till it 'looks/tastes right' :rolleyes:o_O.
