Best friend had the Mercury Cyclone Spoiler version. We spent a lot of time cruising Woodward Ave in it.
I forgot about that one. For a short while, I had a 429SCJ Cyclone Spoiler. Orange with white seats that had black and white checkered cloth inserts. Fun car. Sold it to get my T/A.

Ok I’ll play……..

How about a 1969 Coronet R/T 440-4 bbl, 4 speed, 3:54 Dana, buckets, console, F8 green, Ramcharger hood. Early build car too. It was fast. So fun to run it up through the gears. Only street race I lost was to my buddies 1968 Coronet R/T Hemi 4 speed car. Sure miss that car but it’s being well cared for by the guy I sold it to in 1998.

Nice! Optional side scoops and “sport” black out treatment on the hood scoops.

My second fastest was an ‘04 GTO on which I installed a Magnuson TVS 1900 SC. But the one that I had the most fun with was a 1968 Ford Cortina GT that I drove in college. A boxy little 1600cc sedan that had a Weber carb and factory headers. I installed ridiculously bright quartz iodine driving lights for oncoming drivers that wouldn’t dim their brights and a heavy rear sway bar that allowed four wheel drifts and gymkahna competitions. Many times a land yacht would assume they could take me at a light where the road narrowed to one lane ahead. I sent quite a few onto the shoulder as they failed. Just a fun car.
Not mine, but similar.

Great dash and instrumentation.

Wow, I had no idea they made Cortinas in the US, thought they were only a UK car made in Dagenham.

I had a ‘75 T/A. Silver over black, 400 with an auto. Sold it for the RR as my dad wasn’t into me having cars all over his property.

They were imports. I hardly ever saw another one on the road, so I don't think they sold a lot. A DOHC Lotus Cortina would have been extra nice.

At the time, there was an open-wheel race car class called Formula Ford. The only motor allowed was the 1600cc Cortina GT. They were faster than Formula V which stipulated 40hp VW motors. Not sure if you had those classes over there.

I think the 75 was a good looking model year on the T/A & my Formula, it had no muscle but it looked good. I shouldn't of sold it, my son still gives me a hard time about it & I sold it in 2000. I bought a new 97 Cobra & just couldn't keep up with both at the time. I wish I had it back. It was the 3rd car I ever bought & kept it longer than any other.

My buddy John, may he RIP, had a '74 455 SD T/A w/an auto, red over black. Don't know what ever became of the car as he had moved out of state and I never bothered to keep in touch with his wife after his death.

Thank you Mean Cat. The Formula is a 74 400 4 speed. Loooong story on that car. I bought it 10 years ago because I got a really great deal on it. I thought "I'll just crank around in this thing for a summer or 2". 10 years later.......I can't part with it. It's a really cool car. It's my commuter car/grocery getter.

OK, the 74 & 75 looked the same except for the blinkers which I couldn't see in the pic. Yeah don't sell it, wish I didn't. Mine was a auto T350.
I wouldn't sell any you have, nice collection.

The back window is different. On the 74, it's flat. On the 75 it wraps around and comes down the sides a bit. Google it. You'll see what I'm talking about. I prefer the 74. It's a cleaner look.
Thank you Old Mopar Guy for the compliment.

Yes, you are correct, I remember now, I think that was the only 2 differences (blinker & back window) as far as body looks.

I'm no Pontiac guy but yes, the back window and the blinkers are the only differences. A lot of people do like the blinkers in the grill. Not me. Mine are below the head lights. Again, just a cleaner look. And of course, personal preference. Either way, those cars are really cool. And what a comfortable ride. So nice. And no, NO plans to sell. If I could only keep 1 though? I'd keep the 70 Cuda. I drive that thing everywhere.
