And for all the Charger Nay Sayers uh huh damn the Charger Cop car hauled ass. Think about how to a degree the HC motors could be in these if Dodge would feel the municipality’s would lay low on the hype.

Complete lunacy on LEO pursuing a chase that long...the potential risk to the public...and the officer...for what...a V&T violation...even if the speed dictates a felony...its still a V&T...senseless

Took the words out of my mouth that is crazy on how the cops are doing high speeds for miles and miles. It’s is unbalanced on how the cops can haul ass and its a ok but you and I are a danger to society. If they would have stopped pursuit and set troopers up the way to eventually catch him at lower speeds. Meaning they just track him and dont speed up because it’s already obvious he smoked the first one and needed back up anyways.

Stupid. Though I must say, if he got 40 years for kidnapping and other crap, and was out in less than 7, he should be violated and returned to the pen. See you in 33 years.

I am against idiotic pursuits... but then we embolden the hard core criminals if they know if they go fast enough they can truly get away. We have to have logical pursuit rules, and enforce them. Or employ surveillance state tactics. Such as, tag every parolee with an implanted RFID chip? Anytime its pinged by a reader it gives ID and location data. RFID is short range, but in this case, pop them with a reader from the pursuing car, a helo, or a drone and then back off. Or what, RFID encoded chips and receivers in cars, that when they are pinged by police limit the vehicle to 20 mph and activate GPS homing/tracking for the car?

Man around here they'd have shut that pursuit down. I'm all for catching the bad guy but Police cars doing 150MPH through traffic is putting way too much at risk.

Also, had the Mustang not had such a loud exhaust they'd probably not have caught him LOL. All they had to do was follow the sound when he got out of sight.

It may well be that someday either cars will be equipped with police activated shutdown codes they can activate if any car's GPS sends a satellite uplink it is exceeding any given speed limit by, say, 26 mph (in KY a conviction for that is an automatic 90 day license suspension). Think bait car. Or we'll just outlaw cars that can drive faster than say, 80 mph - to pick a speed that might still get somebody to a hospital in time, but never result in insane car chases like this one.
