Home made Rear seat close out

Mocking up my own rear seat delete. Probably going to make it out of plastic sheets. Right now, mocking it up with foam board, 1/4” plywood. I have black carpet - I might make it out of wood/cover it for now to see how it looks. Willing to share template when done (mail). With carpet, adhesive, wood, have about $65 in it. Should weigh under 2lbs when done. Speedlogix is made out of mdf, weighs 24lbs, and is $400.

Looks good, but won't that plywood telegraph the noise from the trunk & floor ? I'd thing you'd need to add foam or acoustic liner to the back ??

I’m sure I’ll make improvements, just an idea I had over the weekend. Got everything Sunday and started making the templates (contour gauges are your friend). Very pleased with how it turned out

And if you you decide that you want to quiet it down a little - 40 oz. Jute lining from Ebay. Seems to be much lighter than the sound deadening mat and pretty cheap. I used 2 yds and it was the perfect amount for both the back panel and the "seat" bottom. And under $40.

You need 50” for the bottom and 46-48 for the top.

Lol no. Hardware through it behind the carpeting. Bolts from back on trunk panel, front/bottom is push pins.
