Well, it’s not really an idea, these are facts on how a stage 2 kit works. When you buy a stage 2 kit, you get a multi channel smaller condenser and a 12” pusher fan, with 3 fittings (#8 90 degree for the top of the 2nd condenser, a #6 splicer that allows you to splice back into the high pressure line at the bottom where the line was cut to put a 4 way fitting where the ac pressure switch gets relocated, and you generally get a #12 Earls Performance hose spring for your T fitting suction line that goes back to your chiller (#12 hose is the largest I’ve seen that comes with these kits, and if you have a Chalenger/Charger Scat Pack or above, you already have a #12 suction hose. You also get about 6ft of #6 hose and #12 hose, and a drier to replace the one you have. Once you open your ac system, you must replace the drier. All of the parts can be purchased online for less than half of what these stage 2 kits cost, even when they are discounted. The 2nd condenser (smaller one) runs in series with your factory condenser. You’ll have to replumb your ac lines to relocate the 4 way fitting with the pressure switch. The factory line will be plumbed to go up to the top of the 2nd condenser (#8 90 degree fitting that accepts the #6 hose coming out of the bottom of the factory condenser. At the bottom of the 2nd condenser (#6 180 degree fitting, straight fitting, or 90 degree fitting depending on how you you mount your 2nd condenser (2 or 4 L brackets which can be purchased at a local hardware store. The whole idea is to allow the refrigerant to go through the 2nd condenser giving it more time to cool down before it starts the process again of going to either your cabin/chiller or drag mode (chiller only). You need to recharge your system after all replumbing of the ac lines are completed and you’ve mounted your 2nd condenser, along with replacing the chiller dryer. On a Dodge Challenger, the charge can range from 44oz to 46oz of refrigerant. Less is more when recharging your system. So, once you get really cold ac temps coming out of your cabin vents, you should be good to go.
