I think some of us take for granted just how INSANELY complex it is to build a car from scratch

You gotta watch this.

I know some on here have manufacturing backgrounds so I apologize in advance if this puts you to sleep. For me, and I suspect others, it drives home the point that maybe we should be a bit more tolerant and patient when it comes to submitting an order and expecting a perfect car to roll back to us lickety-split. The robotics alone are insanely complex. I can't imagine the coding and design work to get their motions so precise. Stuff gotta break from time to time too. And when one thing goes down I suspect there's a cascade effect that makes things potentially worse.

Fascinating and mindblowing when you think about the level of detail and precision needed (not to mention the capital expenditures involved) even if it is to only build a "Dodge". :)

17 minutes I didn't mind spending...

We have approximately 1000 robots just in our body shop! The entire final vehicle assembly after paint is done 98% by human hands. Robots really only transfer body and frame from one process to another. It is truly amazing to watch the entire process! Most people only get to see one little part that they are involved in. Im lucky I get to go everywhere!! I was in awe the first time I walked through the plant.

Looks that way, all the different drums and polar teary gear sets. Have watched several videos on rebuilding them and breaking them down. Really just need the special tools for the drum snap rings

Hmm, I am snot frum Whore meeze out frum Orlando, butt I spent alot of my ears worken frum there. My office waz off of OBT and frum thare ok, butt. Tits video waz gud. I have spent alot of my times wur kin in tha fact whories building tese places. Watt thay don't say about is where da bots are made frum. Japan tay R and resuretrected frum Chiner. I have wurked wit alot of tese guys and tay r intellegent, nice, family persuns, butt thay can't speek english and whore I can't spank Jap A Neese and whore Chin eese. Language barrier. Happens alot of places. Deese machineese are ass art ass da dudes dat build dem. Day are smart. A 9/16 th is a 9/16 th,, a 9mm is a 9mm. Don't change. Deez kidzs ain't stupid. Just beez bee cause da didn't spend thay time unda an oak tree pull in an engine ad 16, dusen't mean da r dat stupid?? Butt, snot span dan dat much time dat Diamond Dolls dun't make ya tat whore dat dum, youa'll dust don't spank southern. Or, what ever Paula, fee on say #6 say said in Georgian languanguian talked about wit bean talk.

I do work on everything in that video though. I was in the body shop but now I work chassis, trim and final assembly.

@hellno does a brand new pump and a few other parts in every built trans. He also doesnt use factory clutches

There’s more needed other then the billet drum and kit
You will also want a new pump
Pump bolt kit
Valve body separator plate
Pressure plates
And of course the tools to take the snap rings off the shells and actual knowledge on how to build them

17 minutes I didn't mind spending...

I actually got to go to Brampton and watch my 2023 Challenger Redeye Widebody Jailbreak get built back in April. It's a super cool process to see, I actually got to follow my car as it came out of paint right until it rolled off the end of the line. It's super impressive to see how everything comes together, especially with things being on different lines and all mating up to the correct car at the right time. Some of the employees even told me about how they would get around different nuances, like where the engine harness etc is tied up on the engine pallet for easy insertion into the car which all depends on powerplant.

The amount of time that it must have taken to design and execute the correct sequencing to get everything to go together correctly is impressive.
