I wonder if the GT500 guys we will wish they purchased this instead....Hmmmm C8 Corvette is here Wow!

Is the new C8 Corvette the better purchase versus the new GT500

I cannot fit my kids in the back of either car - so this is irrelevant to me.

But, if I had a say - it would be the C8.

I just cant stand the looks of it. The more I see it the less I like it. And the interior is just too ‘awkward’ to me as well. Seems like they’re trying way too hard to be futuristic or something. This is SO gm, gadget city.
I’m sure it drives awesome but I need my car to speak to me, that car just speaks to hear itself talk imo.

The reviews biggest complaint was the rear view capability which sucks and side views. Sounds like the Camaro issues on Steroids. You would think they would have put cameras all around her to resolve this....but not so much and I could get one but like you just not jumping out at me yet.

It does have a rear view camera but yes it still has visibility issues.

If I had some decent twisty roads anywhere near me, I’d be interested. Unfortunately, miles and miles of rough, straight, cold-patched roads make it a “no”. My retro styled Mopar still makes the most sense for me.

What he said!
Right on the money. I have to say, the C8 is one heck of a car and probably a blast to drive, but I just don’t care for the appearance.

I would seriously consider a C8 once the new release hype calms down and they start showing up on the used market.

I like both cars for what they offer, same with the Hellcat.

I’ve owned corvettes, I’d take the gt500. Because that corvette looks so good It would be like my other corvettes and it’d become a garage Queen and o told myself I’d never do that again

It’s unfortunate but the corvette is no longer a muscle car IMO, it’s moved up to more of a higher status quo, the mustang and challengers still say hey let’s go drag racing, the vette says hey let’s go for a Sunday drive and show off our super car

I think mine was pushed to 2021. Thats what i get for sleeping on it

Not sold on the high wing like i was originally but im digging the base seats after seeing them in person.
Might just go base with Z51 and aftermarket wheels.

Cam and headers if tuning becomes available

You might be better off dodging the first year blues as long as they lock in the 2020 pricing for you. I actually now like the no wing look but I can always change that up. Call my dealer and asked them not to install the black rocker panel. Definitely going aftermarket wheels. Just picked up the red engine cover for much cheaper and will install that when she arrives.

Had a C7 and hated it. Uncomfortable and the build quality was horrible. Transmission was horrible and had a lot of problems. I wouldn’t touch the first year C8 with a 10 foot pole. But I have to say when I bought the C7 new in 2016 the attention it received was incredible. I’m sure if you want to be seen this is the car to get.

Much like these HCs, I don't believe there is going to be much gain in headers on the C8. Cam for sure.

I was all set to buy a Z06 then the ADR Challenger rumors started. Then confirmed.
Got a Demon then ended up flipping it because the money was too damn good to pass up.

Now with the C8, i love the looks of it but quite skeptical about it. If the aftermarket can't crack that cloud encryption shit, i'd sell the car and go for something else.

I wanted to buy it on the left coast and drive it home with the wife and take a week or so to get away. But all the markups at those dealers soured that idea.

Right now i have a Vette or Hellcat tugging at my heart strings but i can only have one. Wife wants a Jeep Gladiator so im getting help there. LOL
