What's the difference between getting a low pressure warning or no tire pressure light?
Not much difference he does it for the drive to the track.

I have seen nothing in writing from the NHRA in regard to be able to run down to 9 flat and or 145 MPH.
There was some RUMINT about this. Only IHRA made the chanage and the official change from them is 9.0 or slower OR 145 mph and slower. Any faster than that and it's cage time.

I see NHRA changing it. Not sure how often some will have both tracks not far from each other but if there are 2 close you know which will be more busy. I have 2 tracks about an hour away one NHRA and the other IHRA

I have both of the NHRA 2022 rule book amendments dated 1/20/2022 and 1/28/2022.
NOTHING in writing or mention of changing from the current 10 flat and or 135 MPH rule during Street Legal Racing. (Better known as Friday night test and tune.)

So quick recap. IHRA states the following under their 2022 rule book. Section: "Street Legal, 9.00 and slower 1/4 mile, 6.00 and slower 1/8 mile, Up to 145 mph." states the following:
-2008 OEM model year and newer production cars running 9.00 (1/4 mile) and 6.00 (1/8 mile) and slower, or up to 145 mph do not have to meet the requirements and specifications for the Summit ET safety rules except for the following: Convertibles and T-top entries must meet the minimum specifications listed in the ET bracket section for roll bar and roll cage requirement.
Well since I trap 145+ I moved onto the other section: "SUMMIT “SPORTSMAN” SAFETY AND GENERAL GUIDELINES" and went right to the roll cage section:
ROLL CAGE: Roll cage mandatory on all entries. On full bodied cars with an unaltered floor and firewall running 6.40 or slower in the 1/8th mile, a roll bar is permitted in place of roll cage. All entries running 9.00 or quicker 1/4 mile or 6.00 or quicker 1/8 mile must have a current Chassis Certification. See SFI Specifications and General Regulations.
How I interpret this is that because I have gone 6.2 to get my 9.6/145 slips I am now required to have a cage. Document source here: https://www.ihra.com/images/2022/IHRA_RULEBOOK/2022_IHRA_RuleBook.pdf.

Moving onto the NHRA rule book, the most current version is here: https://nationaldragster.s3.amazonaws.com/Rulebooks/2022_NHRA_Rulebook_22_02_08/index.html. You can download a pdf from there and here is the latest updates: https://www.nhraracer.com/Files/Tech/2022 Rulebook Amendments 3-1-2022.pdf. Still deciphering the addendum.

Maybe the IHRA will fix their mph which we all thought was low. I know you are doing upgrades but in the summer you will be slower. I'm 4 tenths slower in the heat and we all remember how you were looking for that 9 that you didn't get until it cooled off

I got a quote from satera for a chiller install but I just have too much going on this year to drop that kind of coin right now. Need to find an excavator to dig out my foundation and repair/waterproof it plus run 400ft of drain pipe. Ouch.

Probably gonna give the BMR icebox a try. I don't really want to end up almost a grand into a trunk box and a good pump otherwise. May as well just do a chiller at that point.. plus I have a sub under the floor as-is that I am not giving up and i use 100% of my trunk when I go to work so...

OST seems to have luck with their "modified" version of it which from what I can tell is nothing major and is installed according to BMR's flow path instructions.

Do you know what the modifications are? All I plan on doing is wrapping it in reflective tape or a foam.

They did something with the drain and also wrapped it in a similar insulation. I believe they also modified the lines to make it easier to remove and/or bleed without airlock. had the thread open but didn't save it.

Most found the drain to be a PITA anyway. Probably the #1 issue besides airlocking the pump on install.

That is correct. The math doesnt add up. To go 9.0 you will have to be going way faster.

When I install it will be under vacuum so not a worry for me. Also saw a video a out the drain. Reached out to a guy that added a line to drain it and am waiting on the valve he used from Mastercarr.

Have you installed it yet? I was wondering about draining it. Does it have a heat exchanger (radiator) inside?

Nope. In-house installs only.

Multiple places claimed in stock. BMR as well claimed in stock. So we'll see. Even at a 4 week lead it's perfect timing.

From you? Yes.

To me? They're about 2hrs south still in PA. Slippery Rock area give or take.
